Hello all, new post for my Saudi Street project & it’s also from AlHasa, I went to the weekly Sunday market in AlQarah village once before and published it in Day 56 – AlHasa so I had to make another visit to document the status of the market considering the the municipality has started building the new traditional look market for the village & it’s supposedly to be finish soon, it’s definitely a good attraction for the village, because I arrived the night before the market day I had the chance to visit it very early in the morning when vendors starting to set up their spaces & eat breakfast.

مرحبا جميعاً، تدوينة جديدة لأجل مشروع حياة الشارع السعودي وهي أيضاً من الأحساء، ذهبت إلى سوق الأحد الأسبوعي في قرية القارة مسبقاُ وقمت بنشر تدوينة عنها في اليوم ٥٦ – الأحساء لذا شعرت بأن علي القيام بزيارة اخرى لتوثيق الحالة الحالية للسوق خصوصاً أن الأمانة قررت أخيراً البدء بعملية بناء السوق الشعبي للقرية والذي بكل تأكيد سيكون له تأثير جذب للسياح للقرية، بسبب أنني وصلت الأحساء في الليلة السابقة ليوم السوق استطعت الوصول مبكراً جداً في الصباح لرؤية الباعة وهم يجهزون مساحاتهم الخاصة للبيع وأيضاً تناول وجبة الإفطار قبل وصول الزبائن.

When I arrived people are drinking hot tea & getting warm near the fire since it’s cold morning in winter

عندما وصلت الناس هناك كانت تشرب الشاي الساخن وتتدفئ بالقرب من النار بما أن صباح بارد في الموسم الشتاء

Super early, cold morning and people are chatting together before customers arrive

صباح مبكر، صباح بارد والناس تتبادل أطراف الحديث قبل وصول زبائن السوق

Another group mostly old men and usually 1 or 2 who have space here to sell his merchandise, while the others are from village & used to come here each week to catch up with each other

مجموعة اخرى ومعظمهم من كبار السن وعادة شخص واحد او اثنين الذين لديهم مساحة خاصة للبيع وأما البقية فهم غالباً من نفس القرية اعتادوا المجيء بشكل أسبوعي للقاء وتبادل الأحاديث مع بعضهم البعض

The biggest section in the market is the vegetable market naturally

القسم الأكبر من السوق هو سوق الخضار والفاكهة

One of the sellers which he’s an old man, selling only watermelon

أحد الباعة من كبار السن والذي يبيع ما يسمى محلياً بـ (الجح) ـ

Also fish sellers are usually present in each weekly market

أيضاً باعة السمك حاضرون عادة في كل سوق أسبوعي

Old man & an old woman, each came to the market with a stick by themselves and that’s one of the reasons in my opinion why these weekly markets should last in each village like always, because not everyone has the luxury to drive from one place to another

رجل كبير بالسن وإمرأة كبيرة بالسن، هما قام بالمجيء للسوق بعكاز بأنفسهم وهذا أحد الأسباب برأيي الشخصي الذي يدفع هذه الأسواق للاستمرار في كل قرية كما هي، لأنه وبكل بساطة ليس الكل لديه رفاهية الانتقال من مكان إلى الاخر بالسيارة بسهولة

Dried small fish, favorite snack for the old generation, mostly people in their 70s nowadays

سمك صغير مجفف يسمى (العوم) وجبة سريعة مفضلة لدى الجيل القديم جداً معظمهم كبار السن

Signs put by to show off the construction of the market which is beside AlQarah mountain, hopefully it will finish soon enough

لوحات وحواجز للسوق الذي يتم بناءه وتجهيزه وهو بمحاذاة جبل القارة على أمل أن ينتهي قريباً
