I had quick visit in Madinah west of Saudi Arabia with the family for couple of days, and it was a good chance to photograph & deliver a printed photo and because I took most of the time searching for the person I photographed I only took a few shots along the way.
كانت لدي زيارة سريعة مع العائلة إلى المدينة المنورة غرب السعودية لبضعة أيام، وكانت فرصة ممتاز للتصوير ولتسليم أحد الصور المطبوعة لأصحابها ولأنني كنت أبحث عن هذا الشخص معظم الوقت لم أقم إلا بإلتقاط بعض الصور أثناء ذلك.

After half an hour of walking and looking for the original location I finally managed to reach it and beside it was the home of the old man in the wheelchair which basically was a small room with a kitchen & a toilet, “Olyan” the name of this old man in his 70s old don’t have relatives & didn’t get married, an asian worker is taking care of him which he provided by the area’s Imam masjid, I couldn’t photograph him when I met him in the room but I can describe what I saw, he was laying down on a thin mattress on bed made of concrete, he was observing the printed photo pointing to the other guy which he didn’t see him in a while, he was smiling to see himself, I excused myself & left the room. I’m sure Olyan story isn’t the only one but it leads us to thank Allah for best blessing we have in the world which is our family.
بعد البحث عن مكان التصوير قرابة نصف ساعة وجدت نفس المكان الذي قمت بتصويره وبجواره منزل الرجل المسن المقعد أو نستطيع القول غرفة صغيرة بمطبخ وحمام، (عُليان) رجل كبير بالعمر في السبعينات ومقعد من فترة طويلة جداً وليس لديه أقارب ولم يتزوج، يعتني به عامل أسيوي والذي قام بتوفيره له امام مسجد الحارة، لم أستطع تصويره عندما إلتقينا به داخل الغرفة ولكنه كان مستلقي على قطعة فراش نحيفة على سرير مصنوع من الاسمنت وكان يتأمل الصور المطبوعة ويشير الى الشخص الاخر وأنه لم يره من فترة، ومن ثم استأذنته وغادرت الغرفة. أنا واثق من أن قصة عًليان ليست الوحيدة ولكنها تدفعنا للتأمل قليلاً في أفضل النعم التي لدينا وهي العائلة.
