Day 50 – AlBahah

Hello all, on my last trip to the South of Saudi after finishing from Jazan Region I took the road to AlBahah Region which was really interesting because the main city was on top of mountain and hast lots of forests areas, because I didn’t plan it well I couldn’t get the use of being there for a whole day, so I end up not shooting for the project in Friday and waited for Saturday morning to go the public weekly markets in both AlBahah city and Baljurashi. So first I went to AlBahah market which was very small and not crowded and only have a bird market which made me very disappointed, but I didn’t stop I took a few photos and head to Baljurashi which was only less then 30 mins away, for now here are the photos from AlBahah.

مرحبا بكم جميعاً، في رحلتي الأخيرة إلى جنوب السعودية وبعد الانتهاء من منطقة جازان توجهت إلى منطقة الباحة والتي كانت قريبة من هناك وكانت أيضاً مثيرة للاهتمام بسبب وجود المدينة الرئيسية فوق قمة احد الجبال وكانت تحتوي على كثير من الغابات والمتنزهات، في الحقيقة لم أقم بالتخطيط بشكل جيد لهذه المنطقة ولذلك ضاع يوم كامل وهو يوم الجمعة بدون التصوير للمشروع واضطررت الانتظار لصباح يوم السبت لتصوير السوق الشعبي الموجود في مدينتي الباحة وبلجرشي. ذهبت أولاً إلى سوق الباحة والذي كان صغيرة ومخيباً للامال وكان به فقط سوق الطيور، لم أتوقف هناك اخذ عدة صور وثم توجهت إلى بلجرشي والتي كانت تبعد قرابة ٣٠ دقيقة

Day 49 – Jazan Part 4

Hello all and this is the last part from Jazan Region which was from my last trip to the South of Saudi Arabia, if you haven’t seen Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 please do. For the last part I also went to another weekly market which was Thursday Market in AlAridhah city in Jazan Region, again it has different types of sellers there from vegetables, seeds and goats. Here are some of the photos from this walk!

مرحبا بكم جميعاً مع الجزء الأخير من منطقة جازان من رحلتي الأخيرة إلى منطقة الجنوب في السعودية، إذا لم تشاهدوا الجزء الأول، الجزء الثاني والجزء الثالث تفضلوا بزيارتها. في الجزء الأخير ذهبت أيضاً إلى سوق اسبوعي اخر وهو سوق يوم الخميس الشعبي في مدينة العارضة في منطقة جازان وأيضاً هذا السوق متنوع في الباعة من الخضروات والبهارات والأغنام. هنا بعض الصور التي قمت بإلتقطاها من هناك!

Day 49 – Jazan Part 3

Hello again and welcome to another post from my project, continuing with Part 3 from my last trip to the south to Jazan Region, If you haven’t seen Part 1 or Part 2 please do. In the early morning I went to a nearby city called Sabia and just on it’s borders it has it’s weekly market which is Tuesday market, lots of stuff are been sold there most of it was fruit & vegetables, goats & cows, different kind of seeds & plants, woman’s cloths and other stuff. More to say that there were a number of old woman who work there as well, I spent about 2 hours in that market, here are some of the photos I’ve captured there!

مرحبا مرة اخرى مع تدوينة جديدة من مشروع حياة الشارع، اكمل معكم الجزء الثالث من رحلتي الاخيرة لمنطقة جازان، إذا لم تشاهدوا الجزء الأول أو الجزء الثاني تفضلوا بمشاهدته أولاً. في الصباح الباكر توجهت إلى مدينة قريبة تسمى صبيا وعلى حدودها يقام سوق الثلاثاء الشعبي الأسبوعي، وهو سوق شعبي مختص بأشكال مختلفة من باعة مختلفين، معظمهم باعة الخضروات والفواكه، الأغنام والأبقار، حبوب وبهارات ونباتات، وثياب نسائية …إلخ، وأيضاً لاحظت تواجد النساء الكبيرات في العمر يعملن في السوق وبنسبة ليست بسيطة، أمضيت قرابة الساعتين في هذا السوق. هنا بعض الصور التي إلتقطتها!

New project begins

Beginning a new project “The Saudi Life Stories” which will be focused more in getting stories from people out from the streets, markets and maybe inside the houses who knows. It will be a tough project as I am forced to talk longer then usual with the subject, I decided I want to focus on teenagers and adults but not old people or kids. This is project is inspired by Humans of New York as I first saw the project back in 2013 and I was fascinated about it! Because of my street life project I didn’t have time to focus on that before, wish me luck 🙂

بداية مشروع جديد تحت مسمى “قصص حياة السعودية” والتي سوف تكون متركزة أكثر على القصص ذاتها أكثر من الصورة من الاشخاص، سواء من الشارع أو الأسواق أو حتى ربما من داخل البيوت. سيكون مشروع صعب حيث أنني مرغم على الحديث بشكل مطول مع الشخص المعين، قررت التركيز على فئة الشباب المراهقين والكبار بعيداً عن كبار السن أو الأطفال. هذا المشروع مستلهم من مشروع ناس من مدينة نيوريورك والتي رأيت المشروع لأول مرة في عام ٢٠١٣ وكنت مذهلاً منه! بسبب مشروعي القائم في تصوير حياة الشارع السعودي لم أستطع التركيز لبدء هذا المشروع سابقاً، على أي حال تمنوا لي التوفيق 🙂

Hello all, another post from my last trip to the South of Saudi Arabia in Jazan Region, if you haven’t seen Part 1 of Jazan please do. The photowalk was in the central market in Jazan which was near the coast and surrounding it was an old area basically on a small mountain, here are some of the photos!

Day 49 – Jazan Part 1

Hello Everybody and another new post blog from latest trip which was to the South of the Kingdom in Jazan Region which is located in the far south west. Jazan was rich of stories and cities worth to explore and take street photography, so I aimed to shoot in Jazan city itself plus 2 weekly markets near the city. Starting off with the fish market in Jazan city, headed there straight in the morning and it was really good choice to be there, here are some of the photos!

مرحبا بالجميع مرة اخرى ومع تدوينة جديدة وهي الأولى من رحلتي الأخيرة إلى المنطقة الجنوبية وتحديداً منطقة جازان والتي تقع في أقصى مساحة في الجنوب الغربي للمملكة. منطقة جازان غنية بالقصص والمدن بها تستحق الاستكشاف والتجول من أجل تصوير حياة الشارع، لذا توجهت للتصوير في مدينة جازان نفسها بالإضافة إلى بعض الأسواق الاسبوعية المعروفة خارج المدينة. وأبدأ هنا مع سوق السمك الموجود في مدينة جازان، توجهت هناك في الصباح الباكر وكان خياراً جيداً، هنا بعض الصور

Day 48 – Ha’il Part 2

Back again with the 2nd Part of Ha’il city and the last post from my north trip which was in 4 different cities in North of Saudi Arabia, if you didn’t see Part 1 of Ha’il city please do! In this part I visited an old area from the city, and met great people over there, there are stories everywhere just waiting to be captured and told.

عودة مرة اخرى مع الجزء الثاني من مدينة حائل واخر تدوينة من رحلة الشمال والتي كانت في ٤ مدن مختلفة، إذا لم تشاهدوا الجزء الأول من مدينة حائل شاهدها اولاً! في هذا الجزء قمت بزيارة أحد الأحياء القديمة في حائل وقابلت هناك اناس رائعون من أهلها، وكان المكان مليء بالقصص تنتظر فقط أن تروى.

Day 48 – Ha’il Part 1

For the last city in my trip to the north of Saudi was Ha’il city in Ha’il Region. The terrain around Ha’il is really beautiful with its mountains plus the people there are very kind! I met up with a photographer friend who was kind to me to take me several places in the city including the heritage market in the old part of the city, near it was several workshop for forging and making a heritage Jug made from copper used for Arabian coffee called “Dallah”, more in the photos

وللمدينة الاخيرة من رحلتي إلى شمال المملكة كانت في مدينة حائل ضمن منطقة حائل. التضاريس حول هذه المدينة من جبال جميلة وملفتة للغاية بالإضافة إلى أن شعبها طيب وكريم للغاية! استقبلني أحد الأصدقاء الفوتوغرافيين والذي أخذني في جولة حول المدينة من ضمنها كان السوق الحريم الشعبي في الجزء القديم من المدينة وكان بالقرب من السوق عدة ورش لصنع الدلال النحاسية والمعدنية المستخدمة في القهوة العربية المعروفة، المزيد في الصور

Day 47 – Tabuk Part 2

Hello and welcome again, this is the 3rd city from my trip to the north of Saudi Arabia Part 2, if you haven’t seen Tabuk Part 1 please do. In the 2nd day I drove around with a friend in the morning to scout an area to photograph, we end up in the south of the city where the old areas are located and found one that will do! So in the evening I headed straight there and started wondering with my camera, it was full of children and people and had lots & lots of wall writings and more importantly the people didn’t mind the camera! Here are some of the photos of my walk

مرحبا بكم مجدداً وأهلا كثيراً، هذه هي المدينة الثالثة من رحلتي إلى شمال المملكة العربية السعودية الجزء الثاني، إذا لم تشاهدوا تبوك الجزء الأول شاهدوها أولاً. في اليوم الثاني انطلقت صباحاً مع أحد الأصحاب من أهل المدينة وتجولنا نستكشف أحد الأحياء في جنوب المدينة والتي يبدو أن الأحياء القديمة موجودة هناك ووجدناه مناسباً جداً للتصوير، في المساء انطلقت مباشرة هناك وبدأت التجول بالكاميرا، ولقد كان المكان مليئاً بالأطفال والناس وكان يحتوي على الكثير من كتابات الجدران والأهم من كل ذلك أن الناس هناك كانوا متقبلين لحامل الكاميرا! هذه بعض الصور من جولتي من هناك
