Hello and welcome again, this is the 3rd city from my trip to the north of Saudi Arabia Part 2, if you haven’t seen Tabuk Part 1 please do. In the 2nd day I drove around with a friend in the morning to scout an area to photograph, we end up in the south of the city where the old areas are located and found one that will do! So in the evening I headed straight there and started wondering with my camera, it was full of children and people and had lots & lots of wall writings and more importantly the people didn’t mind the camera! Here are some of the photos of my walk
مرحبا بكم مجدداً وأهلا كثيراً، هذه هي المدينة الثالثة من رحلتي إلى شمال المملكة العربية السعودية الجزء الثاني، إذا لم تشاهدوا تبوك الجزء الأول شاهدوها أولاً. في اليوم الثاني انطلقت صباحاً مع أحد الأصحاب من أهل المدينة وتجولنا نستكشف أحد الأحياء في جنوب المدينة والتي يبدو أن الأحياء القديمة موجودة هناك ووجدناه مناسباً جداً للتصوير، في المساء انطلقت مباشرة هناك وبدأت التجول بالكاميرا، ولقد كان المكان مليئاً بالأطفال والناس وكان يحتوي على الكثير من كتابات الجدران والأهم من كل ذلك أن الناس هناك كانوا متقبلين لحامل الكاميرا! هذه بعض الصور من جولتي من هناك
At the first half hour, the street were almost empty. This is a famous car in that area, I’ve seen most of the models the new & the old ones there
في النصف الساعة الاولى كانت الشوارع شبه فارغة. بالمناسبة هذه السيارة مشهورة ومتنشرة هناك لدرجة أنني رأيت أغلب موديلاتها الجديدة والقديمة
Just passing of a school when I see this funny scene, the original drawing says “I love my school” but someone add “Don’t” before the word love
عند مروري بأحد المدارس كان هذا المشهد الطريف على الجدار بتحريف هذه العبارة
Lots of kids were passing me, curious about that stranger with the camera
الكثير من الأطفال كانوا يمرون بجانبي بنظرات استغراب لهذا الشخص الغريب بالكاميرا
We all did this, play football on the street with the thoub! And then one more kid showed up wearing that peace of cloth like this
كلنا فعلنا ذلك، لعب كرة القدم على الشارع بالثوب! ثم وصل طفل اضافي وكان يلبس هذه الغترة بهذه الطريقة
I thought a lot about the name and how weird it is to see it here, don’t know maybe it’s not!
ما جذبني هنا هو اسم هذه البقالة وهو بالحقيقة اسم غريب وربما هو ليس غريباً في هذه المنطقة

I was talking to these guys a lot about why I’m here and what do I see in my photography, but in the end they still didn’t want me to take their photos, so I took this one for them
كنت أتحدث مع هؤلاء كثيراً وذكرت سبب تواجدي هنا وماذا أرى في التصوير والصورة ولكن في النهاية رفضوا أن يتم تصويرهم ولذلك أخذت هذه الصورة لهم
The driver is showing his friends a new clip for a cars drifting outside the city
السائق يقوم بمشاركة صديقه مقطع حديث لأحد مشاهد التفحيط الذي حدث مؤخراً خارج المدينة
It’s the whole family just passing by, you can see how curious that little girl on the back
عائلة بأكملها مرت بجانبي، تلك الفتاة الصغيرة بالخلف كانت تملك نظرات فضول واستغراب
Like I said earlier, lots & lots of wall writings different kinds, the good and the bad and this is only a glimpse of it
مثل ما قلت سابقاً، الكثير والكثير من كتابات الجدران من مختلف الأنواع والأشكال، الجيد منها والسيء وهذه فقط تعتبر لمحة منها
I really enjoyed every moment meeting with these people and chatting, laughing with them hoping I’ll be able to be back and deliver them a print photo as memory.
في الحقيقة استمتعت كثيراً بكل لحظة قضيتها مع هؤلاء الناس من الحديث والضحك معهم على أمل أن تكون لي فرصة للعودة هناك مجدداً لتسليمهم صور مطبوعة للذكرى

An abounded house inside the area, which got filled with more then wall writings & drawings, a human dull dressed like a worker is hanged on the side of the house, it’s been there for a while ( And maybe they removed it by now )
بيت مهجور داخل الحي وممتليء بأكثر من مجرد كتابات ورسومات على الجدران، دمية بشرية بلباس عامل معلقة على جانب البيت وهي موجودة هناك منذ فترة ( وربما تم ازالتها الان )ـ

رجل مسن يتمشى في الحي بالقرب من منزله
little girls heading back home carrying what they bought from the grocery
فتيات صغيرات عائدات إلى المنزل حاملين ما تم شراءه من البقالة
Where is that shop for the left sign? really weird
أين هو هذا المحل للافتة الموجودة على اليسار؟
This young man on the left did leave me with a smile, after the photo he insist to know my Instagram account, so he can add me and view his photo, he owned a new blackberry he just bought and for some reason he just couldn’t change the language to En. so he could write my user name, so as last solution he wrote my user name on the palm of his hands with an ink pen!
هذا الشاب الصغير تركني مع ابتسامة، بعد ان إلتقطت هذه الصورة أصر أن يعرف حسابي في تطبيق الانستغرام، ليتمكن من اضافتي ورؤية صورته بالمستقبل هناك، لديه جهاز بلاكبيري وقد شراءه من فترة بسيطة ولسبب ما لم يستطع تحويل اللغة إلى الإنجليزية حتى يتمكن من كتابة الحساب واضافته! لذا لجأ إلى حل اخير وقام بكتابة حسابي على كفه بالقلم الأزرق الذي كان يحمله بشكل غريب!
