Hello all, today’s post is gonna be from Makkah city west of Saudi Arabia, but first you can visit my previous posts from the same city Makkah Day 31 & Makkah Day 32 . 2nd I want to clear out title why I added (the other side) mainly because people when they visit Makkah (for Umrah or Hajj) & they want to photograph they either shoot the Holy Mosque, the clock tower or the people around it, in the other hand rarely anyone visits the old areas around the Holy Mosque, I myself visited the city 3 times and each time I went to an area away from the Holy Mosque to capture & reveal the other side of the city. Now that’s all clear, the area I visited this time is located west of the Holy Mosque and it’s called AlHindawiyyah, like other areas this one is on a small mountain filled with red brick looking houses, sadly I only walked around in small area because the time was really short but came up with good results.
مرحبا جميعاً، تدوينة اليوم ستكون من مدينة مكة المكرمة الواقعة غرب المملكة، لكن أولاً بإمكانكم زيارة التدوينات الماضية من نفس المدينة اليوم ٣١ مكة المكرمة و اليوم ٣٢ مكة المكرمة . ثانياً أريد أن أوضح العنوان ولما وضعت العبارة (الجهة الاخرى) السبب الرئيسي بأن معظم الناس عندما يقومون بزيارة مكة المكرمة (طبعاً للعمرة أو الحج) ويريدون التصوير فإنهم يركزون على تصوير المسجد الحرام أو برج الساعة أو الناس من حولها، في الجهة المقابلة هناك عدد نادر ممن يريدون زيارة الأحياء القديمة حول المسجد الحرام. عن نفسي أن قمت بزيارة المدينة ٣ مرات وفي كل مرة ذهبت إلى حي قديم بعيداً عن الحرم لإلتقاط واظهار الجهة الاخرى من المدينة. الان بعد أن أوضحت كل هذا سأتحدث عن المنطقة التي قمت بزيارتها هذه المرة وتقع غرب المسجد الحرام وتسمى بالهنداوية، كمثل أغلب الأحياء القديمة تقع على جبل صغير وممتلئة بالبيوت ذات الطابوق الأحمر، للأسف تجولت فقط في مساحة بسيطة من الحي بسبب أن الوقت كان ضيق ولكنني خرجت بنتائج مقبولة.
I stopped my car on the main street & started walking through the narrow streets to get to this area and as you can see how the houses area on a small mountain
قمت بإيقافي سيارتي على الشارع الرئيسي وبدأت بالمشي في الشوارع الضيقة لكي أصل إلى هذا الحي ومثل ما هو واضح البيوت بارزة على جبل صغير
Basically I was walking through a market which is closed because it’s early morning, and this poor man was sleeping like that! I’m sure he’s sleeping because when in the way back I saw him again in the same position
وأنا في الطريق كنت أمشي في سوق ولكن المحلات مغلقة بسبب أن الوقت كان مبكراً في الصباح، عندما رأيت هذا الرجل المسكين الذي كان نائماً بهذه الطريقة! كنت متأكداً من ذلك لأنني في طريق العودة رأيته مرة اخرى بنفس الوضعية تماماً

When I finally approached the area I found that cars do reach here, but still didn’t want to bring my car there, and I met some people there who were welcoming to me and even agreed for a photo which resulted in this portrait
عندما اقتربت إلى الحي وجدت أن السيارات تصل إلى هنا وبإمكانها الدخول إلى أعلى الجبل ولكن مع ذلك لم أكن أرغب بإيقافي السيارة هنا، وإلتقيت ببعض الأشخاص والذي كانوا مرحبين لي وأحدهم كان لا يمانع من أن ألتقط له صورة في مكانه

I always see the old & rusty cars which are parked in areas like this area area important to document
دائماً أرى السيارات القديمة والشبه متهالكة المتوقفة في مثل هذه الأحياء توثيقها مهم
They say that these area a re filled with foreign people who aren’t originally from an Arab country which is true, but amazingly they always write Arabic greeting phrases
يقولون أن هذه الأحياء مليئة بالناس الأجانب من أصول غي عربية وهذا بالطبع صحيح، ولكن بشكل مذهل دائماً يضعون كتابات ترحيبية عربية على البيوت
Because it’s early morning not many kids are around, I met this one who didn’t even stop when I called for him
ولأنه الوقت هو الصباح لا يوجد الكثير من الأطفال حالياً، وإلتقيت بهذا الطفل الذي لم يعرني أي اهتمام عندما ناديت عليه
One the amazing things when you go walk into areas like these is something that will impress you, and here I was really impressed to learn that an artist lives nearby and loves to do graffiti in his neighborhood and also like his friend said to me that he he do paid jobs inside houses which is great, this guy deserved more exposure to his work & skill
أحد الأمور المذهلة عندما تقوم بالتجول في مثل هذه الأحياء هو أمر ما تجده ويذهلك، وهنا أذهلتني وجود رسومات جدران جميلة ومميزة من قبل فنان يعيش بالقرب من هنا وكما يقول لي أحد أصدقاءه أنه أيضاً يقوم بأعمال مدفوعة داخل المنازل، هذا الفنان بحاجة إلى تسليط الضوء على رسوماته ومهارته
If you come here would you eat from this restaurant? I would if I knew someone from here & assured me it’s good food
إذا قمتم بزيارة هذا المكان هل ستأكلون من هذا المطعم؟ عن نفسي إذا كان هناك شخصاً أعرفه من هذا الحي وقال لي أن الأكل جيد لن أمانع
This is not like any other electronic repair shop that you’ve seen before
هذا ليس محل اصلاح الأجهزة الكهربائية المعتاد رؤيتها
In my way back the clock tower which is right beside the Hold Mosque is shown from a distance which proves that this area isn’t far away
في طريق العودة يظهر برج الساعة والذي يقع بجانب المسجد الحرام والذي يثبت أن المنطقة ليست بعيدة
