Hello all, today’s is from a familiar old area in Tarout Island west of Qatif, Saudi Arabia. I photographed there many times over the years and each time there is something rather new or different, and I posted Day 11 – Tarout Island for my project which was in 2014, but this is completely different as my skills & view in street photography improved. I would like to note that this post will have photos captured in 2 separate days.
مرحبا جميعاً، تدوينة اليوم من حي قديم ومعروف في جزير تاروت غرب محافظة القطيف، قمت بالتصوير هناك عدة مرات على مر السنين وكل مرة يكون هناك شيء جديد أو مختلف، قمت سابقاً بنشر تدوينة اليوم ١١ – جزيرة تاروت للمشروع والذي كان في ٢٠١٤، لكن هذه مختلفة تماماً حيث أن مهارات التصوير ونظرتي في تصوير حياة الشارع أصبحت مختلفة للأفضل. أريد أن أشد انتباهكم أن الصور في هذه التدوينة تم تصويرها في يومين مختلفين.
A sign was placed by Tourism Authority as an introduction for this area as it represent a historical place which has Tarout Fort which is a tourism attraction
لائحة وضعت من قبل هيئة السياحة عبارة عن تعريف لهذا الحي والتي يعتبر منطقة تاريخية بجانب وجود قلعة تاروت القديمة التي تمثل أحد أماكن الجذب السياحي
And these are some of the remaining historical old houses in this area, some are still being used while others are just deserted
وهذي بعض المنازل التاريخية القديمة في هذا الحي، بعضها لا يزال يستخدم والاخر مهجور
Even though there are some houses are collapsed, graffiti artists find their way there
حتى مع وجود بعض المنازل المنهارة أو المهدومة، فنانون الرسم على الجدران يجدون طريقهم إلى هناك
The big mosque which is located in the center of the area
المسجد الكبير والموجود تقريباً في منتصف الحي
Abandoned building for years, not sure what’s the story behind it
مبنى مهجور منذ سنين ولست متأكد من القصة خلفه
He’s repairing this old house since 2 years for his family, the foundation of the house is very old he said, so a lot of work needed before starting to paint. He said he used to work in drilling outside the city for over 10 years before finding a job in Khober city and that’s when he bought this old house & started to repair it
يعمل على تجديد هذا المنزل القديم منذ سنتين لعائلته، أعمدة الأساس والارضية قديمة جداً لذا المكان يحتاج الكثير من الاصلاحات والتجديدات قبل أن يبدأ بأي عملية تشطيب وصبغ. يقول أنه عمل في أعمال الحفر خارج المدن لأكثر من ١٠ سنوات قبل أن يجد عملاً في مدينة الخبر قريباً من مكان سكنه في القطيف وحينها قام بشراء هذا المنزل وبدأ بإصلاحه
The alleys between the houses at this time always feels great to walk in, and I consider it the soul of any area which breathes in the people who live there
الأزقة والممرات الضيقة بين المنازل في هذا الوقت تعطيك شعور جيد أثناء المشي بها والتأمل، أنا أعتبرها الروح التي تبعث بالحياة للساكنين هنا لأي حي اخر مثل هذا

I passed by this alley twice & this old man was cleaning the entrance & the door, when I asked him why he’s doing that “I like to spend my time in an activity better than sitting around which isn’t healthy” according to him “This door is for a small room that my kids use to hangout with their friends at night”
مررتُ هنا مرتين وكان هذا الرجل المسن يقوم بتنظيف المدخل والباب من التراب الزائد والغبار وعندما سألته عن سبب ذلك “أقضي وقتي بأي نشاط أفضل من الجلسة الي تجيب المرض” حسب قوله “هذا الباب لديوانية حق عيالي وعادة يجون بالليل”ـ
In my way out of the area is 2 mosques beside’s Tarout Castle (it’s not visible from this angle)
في طريق عودتي والخروج من هذا الحي يوجد مسجدين بجانب قلعة تاروت الأثرية (غير ظاهرة من هذه الزاوية)
