Day 44 – Unaizah Part 3

Back with some more interesting photos to show you all, this is Part 3 which was from an old neighborhood in Unaizah, Qassim. If you haven’t seen Part 1 & Part 2 from Unaizah please do! In this part I’ve visited an old neighborhood with lots of activities, alleys & old houses, I’ve met some interesting kids there, it was evening so I only had about 2 hours before sunset. I hope you enjoy the stories from here!

عودة مرة اخرى مع مجموعة جديدة من الصور لمشاركتها معكم، هذا هو الجزء الثالث والذي كان من أحد الأحياء القديمة في مدينة عنيزة بمنطقة القصيم. إذا لم تشاهدوا الجزء الأول والجزء الثاني من عنيزة زورها من هنا. في هذا الجزء زرت أحد الأحياء القديمة والتي كانت بها العديد من القصص، والأزقة والبيوت القديمة، كان الوقت مساءاً لذلك لم يكن لدي إلا ساعتين تقريباً قبل مغيب الشمس، أتمنى أتعجبكم هذه القصص!

Day 43 – Buraydah Part 3

Back with the last part of Buraydah city in Qassim Region, in this photowalk I managed to arrive at an area called AlOjaibah area beside one of the markets which was full of stories, because it was morning there wasn’t many activities inside the alleys, but in the market near it there plenty enough I walked there for more then 2 hours exploring the area and capturing stories. I hope you enjoy this one too!

عودة مع الجزء الأخير من مدينة بريدة بمنطقة القصيم، في هذه الجولة وصلت إلى أحد الأحياء الكبيرة بجانب أحد الأسواق يسمى حي العجيبة والذي كان مليئاً بالقصص المختلفة وبسبب أن الفترة كانت بالصباح كان هناك نشاطاً قليلاً داخل الحي بعكس السوق الملاصق له، تجولت هناك لأكثر من ساعتين ألتقط تلك اللحظات والقصص، أتمنى أن تعجبكم هذه الجولة!

For the 2nd year: 12 Hours on the streets of Dammam

In Saturday 19th of March 2016 for the 2nd year in the 24 hour project event which is a street photography project started 5 years ago, I participated with this event for 12 hours straight in Dammam, Saudi Arabia! If you haven’t seen my 2015 12 Hours on the Street of Dammam please do. It was another great experience for my photographic skill to put on the test, I always wanted to do a long walk and random street shooting, this is the life I love to be in, so again I used my fujifilm X100s & this time I depended on the JPG format that the camera produce so I sometime switch it to b/w mode to color mode with sitting already saved in the camera, it really helped me get a lot of great photos in great shape without any processing. This time I took a lot of photo comparing to last year so it was tough to narrow it down,  since I ended up with 70+ photos ( I know it’s too much ). I decided to show you half of it. Enjoy!

في يوم السبت ١٩ مارس ٢٠١٦ للسنة الثانية على التوالي لمشروع تصوير ٢٤ ساعة وهو حدث عالمي يهتم بتصوير حياة الشارع وتوثيقها، بدأ هذا المشروع قبل ٥ سنوات ولقد شاركت هذه السنة لمدة ١٢ ساعة متواصلة في شوارع الدمام بالسعودية! اذا لم تشاهدوا نتائج نسخة السنة الماضية من تدوينتي شاهدوها الان. لقد كانت تجربة رائعة لاختبار مهاراتي التصويرية في حياة الشارع، لقد رغبت منذ فترة طويلة المشي والتصوير بشكل عشوائي من حياة الشارع، تلك هي الحياة التي أحبها حقيقة، استخدمت كاميرتي الفوجي اكس ١٠٠ اس واعتمدت هذه المرة على صور جاي بي جي بدل من صور الراو وكنت أحول الاعدادات بين الملونة والاحادية في اعدادات مسبقة ومحفوظة، ساعدني كثيراً هذا الشيء في الحصول على صور ليست بحاجة إلى معالجة بتاتاً. كانت نتائجي كثيرة هذه المرة وبعضها دسم مقارنة بالسنة الماضية، بعد الفرز حصلت على اكثر من ٧٠ صورة وهو عدد كبير! لذلك قررت بمشاركتكم نصف هذا العدد، اتمنى ان تستمتعوا بها!

Day 43 – Buraydah Part 1

Finally back to continue publishing through my Saudi Street Project. Last month I went to Al-Qassim Region where I visited a couple of cities there, in this one I’ll start showing you Buraydah city which is the main city in Al-Qassim, I went to a popular market called AlJaradah, I spent my entire morning there and the surrounding area, it was worth it despise some said it’s not a place where people agree with photography but I did anyways

Busy Gas Stations in Saudi Arabia

Today 28th Dec. 2015 the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced it’s yearly budget which showed what lots have feared, they also announced changing the gas prices and will take effect immediately tomorrow! After hearing the news in the social media the people reacts to this shocking news in attempt to fill their cars with gas before it changes tomorrow and as a result the gas stations in major cities were flooded with cars in several hours and some closed early because the tanks of the station has dried.

اليوم في ٢٨ من ديسمبر ٢٠١٥ أعلنت المملكة العربية السعودية ميزانيتها السنوية والتي أظهرت ما يخشاه الكثيرين، أعلنوا بجانب ذلك تغيير أسعار المنتجات البترولية والتي سيبدأ تطبيقها مباشرة غداً! بعد تناقل الخبر وسط وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي تفاعل الكثيرين تجاه هذا الخبر الصادم بأن يقوم بتعبئة سيارته بالبنزين قبل أن يتغير للسعر الجديد وكنتيجة لذلك محطات البنزين في المدن الكبيرة أصبحت مزدحمة لساعات بالسيارات التي تود تعبئة البنزين وبعض المحطات الاخرى أقفلت مبكراً نظراً أن خزان المحطة قد فرغ.

Day 41 – Najran Part 3

We continue to show you more from Najran city with this part ( If you haven’t seen Part 1 or Part 2 please do ). My friend took me to the Historical Amara Palace which was the government building the residence for the ruler of Najran which was built 75 years ago and in front of it was the old houses for the people back then, sadly these house are long gone and demolished leaving a large area of empty space, that what took me find that there was an old area which is my main subject in my project ( I mean by that from 20 to 50 years old ). So in Part 3 from Najran city I’ve gone to what they call the Women’s Market and this old area and its people that were so nice to me considering I’m a stranger for them.

أكمل معكم مع صور أكثر من نجران مع هذا الجزء ( اذا لم تشاهدوا الجزء الأول أو الجزء الثاني من نجران شاهدها أولاً ). أخذني صديقي إلى قصر الأمارة التاريخي في نجران والذي يعتبر المبنى الحكومي ومسكن حاكم نجران ذاك الوقت والذي بني قبل ٧٥ سنة وكان جواره الحي التراثي القديم ببيوته القديمة يسكنها أهل نجران قديماً، بشكل مؤسف هذه البيوت هدمت وتلاشت قبل مدة من الزمن ولم يبقى إلا أرض فارغة أمام القصر وهذا بالضبط ما أوصلني إلى الحي المجاور له وهو حي قديم والذي دائماً أهدف له في هذا المشروع ( أقصد بالقديم ما يكون بين ٢٠ إلى ٥٠ سنة بالعمر ) لذا في الجزء الثالث من مدينة نجران ذهبت إلى ما يطلق عليه سوق الحريم وهذا الحي وبسكانه والذين كانوا لطيفين جداً معي على الرغم من كوني غريب بالنسبة لهم.

Day 41 – Najran Part 2

And with Part 2 from Najran city from Day 41( If you haven’t seen Part 1 please do first ) I continue with my friend around the city heading the famous Daggers Market which represent a tradition for the people in the south of Saudi Arabia. There I saw dozens of Daggers in different shapes and quality and price which is between 300 SR – 20,000 SR! and in the black markets it could go on to 80,000 SR! And there are still very famous Saudi people who still work their and many reach for them because of their experience.

ومع الجزء الثاني من مدينة نجران لتدوينة اليوم ٤١ ( إذا لم تشاهد الجزء الأول اضغط هنا ) أكمل تجولي مع صديقي في المدينة متجهين إلى سوق الجنابي المشهور في نجران والذي يمثل عادة معروفة ومتوارثة لدى أهل الجنوب في المملكة. هناك شاهدت العشرات من الخناجر والجنابي بأشكالها المتنوعة وبجودتها المختلفة، أسعار الخنجر يتراوح ما بين ٣٠٠ ريال سعودي – ٢٠ ألف ريال سعودي! وفي سوق السوداء من الممكن أن يصل إلى ٨٠ ألف ريال! وما يزال هناك سعوديين معروفين يعملون في محلاتهم والبعض يستعين بهم لخبراتهم في هذا المجال.

Day 41 – Najran part 1

In continuing my project this is part 1 from Day 41 in Najran city located in the South Region in Saudi Arabia which I visited in my last trip for this Street Project. I spent a day & a half in Najran which was a mistake! I should have stayed 5 days at least, but still I got a lot of photos and stories around. In this post my first visit was the sheep market which is located south the city, not outside of it like most of the major cities nowadays, the market was just like the one I visit with my father 20 years ago here in Dammam, of course the people are way different. Here I’ll show you glimpse of the market the people who make their living from it.

اكمالاً لمشروعي هذا هو الجزء الأول من من اليوم ٤١ من مدينة نجران والتي تقع جنوب المملكة بالقرب من حدود الجمهورية اليمنية والتي قمت بزيارتها في رحلتي الأخيرة لتصوير مشروع حياة الشارع السعودي. لقد أمضيت هناك قرابة اليوم والنصف والتي كانت غلطة مني بحيث كنت أحتاج إلى قرابة ٥ أيام! ولكن مع ذلك استطعت الحصول على عدد جيد من الصور والقصص. في هذه التدوينة كانت زيارتي الأولى في المدينة في سوق الغنم المحلي والذي يقع جنوب المدينة وليس خارجها كما هو الحال في أغلب المدن الكبرى في المملكة، السوق يذكرني تماماً كما كنت أتجول مع والدي قبل ٢٠ سنة في سوق الغنم بالدمام سابقاً ولكن الناس هناك مختلفون بالتأكيد، سأعرض عليكم لمحات من هذا السوق ومن العاملين فيه والذين يكسبون رزقهم اليومي منه.

My Hometown – Documentary Photography

I don’t usually post my street photos really quickly which are not included in my street project because I’m holding them for some time, but for this one I’ll make an exception! why is that? this is a photo from my hometown in AlHasa which is a very well known village “ AlQarah “. Although I photographed a lot in AlHasa, this is my first time walking around here to capture street footage from my hometown and it wasn’t enough at all because of the short time and the hot weather.

Hello all, finally a new day from my project and this time it’s from AlHasa, Mubarraz from one of the oldest area that this city has. It was a smooth photo walk because I had the chance to scout the area before coming back to take street photos for my project. Anyway I don’t have much to say so enjoy the photos !
