Finally back to continue publishing through my Saudi Street Project. Last month I went to Al-Qassim Region where I visited a couple of cities there, in this one I’ll start showing you Buraydah city which is the main city in Al-Qassim, I went to a popular market called AlJaradah, I spent my entire morning there and the surrounding area, it was worth it despise some said it’s not a place where people agree with photography but I did anyways
عدت لإكمال نشر مشروع حياة الشارع السعودي من خلال هذه المدونة. الشهر الماضي قمت بالذهاب في رحلة إلى منطقة القصيم وقمت بزيارة عدة مدن بها، في هذه التدوينة سأبدأ مع مدينة بريدة وهي المدينة الرئيسية في القصيم، ذهبت إلى أحد الأسواق ويدعى سوق الجردة وأمضيت صباحي هناك متجولاً في السوق وما حوله ولقد كان الأمر يستحق على الرغم من أن البعض قال لي بأن هناك من لن يرغب بالتصوير ولكن ذهبت على أي حال

محل ساعات صغير والذي يبيع ويصلح مختلف أنواع الساعات الحديثة منها والقديمة

Saudi man relaxing on the side walk with tea, arabic coffee & dates, he’s used to be sit here and invite anyone from the people he knows around to sit down and chat
أحد الرجال يجلس على الرصيف ومعه القهوة العربية والشاي والتمر، أعتاد ان يجلس هنا ويدعوا الاشخاص الذين يعرفهم عادة ويمرون من هنا للجلوس معه وتبادل الاحاديث

رجل يلبس قطعة من الملابس تسمى الفروة والتي تقيه من الجو البارد، وهو يقوم بتفقد بضاعته في السيارة

النساء أيضاً يقومون بالبيع هنا أمام سوق الجردة
Closed shops specialized in repairing fire arms which used for hunting, for some reason they are still in business but they don’t open unless someone calls the number written on each one
محلات مغلقة متخصصة في صيانة الأسلحة النارية والهوائية المختصة بالصيد غالباً، لسبب ما المحلات مقفلة ولكن أصاحبها لا يزالوا يمارسون عملهم اذا تم التواصل معهم من الأرقام الموجودة على المحلات
Near AlJaradah Market is the public auction market in Buraydah. This is just outside of the square space which is part of the auction market
بالقرب من سوق الجردة يقع أيضاً سوق الحراج في بريدة. هذا بالقرب من مدخل ساحة سوق الحراج
Inside the small square area for the Auction Market are different kind of stuff to buy, because today isn’t part of the weekend it’s not that crowded, I was very happy with the people around, they were really nice to me!
داخل ساحة سوق الحراج الصغيرة بعض الشيء مختلف الأغراض التي يتم بيعها، اليوم لم يكن مزدحماً بسبب أن هذا اليوم ليس عطلة أسبوع، كنت سعيداً جداً من الأشخاص المتواجدين هنا، لقد كانوا لطفاء معي!
Just outside the Auction Market from the other side are small trucks waiting for costumers who buy big things like furniture or a fridge etc… to rent their services to carry it for them to their home
بجانب ساحة سوق الحراج من الجهة الاخرى هناك بعض الشاحنات الصغيرة المتوقفة والتي ينتظر اصحابها الزبائن التي يحتاجونهم في نقل بعض البضائع الكبيرة مثل الاثاث والثلاجات وغيرها إلى منازلهم
Decided to go north of AlJaradah Market to explore more of the area
قررت الذهاب إلى شمال سوق الجردة لأسكتشف المكان قليلاً

I saw these small shops of clocks everywhere I go
لاحظت وجود هذه المحلات الصغيرة للساعات في أكثر من مكان

رجل مسن داخل محل الصغير، طريقة لبسه للشماغ بهذه الطريقة بسبب الجو البارد
I had to post this one, this is a small cafeteria, I noticed that they have the old ones from them named them in a different word from saying cafeteria of restaurant, they call it “canteen” which the name of the one we have inside the schools. I asked around they said that the new ones are called cafeteria now
كان لابد مني مشاركة هذه الصورة معكم، هذه بوفية صغيرة ولكن لاحظت مع هذه والعديد غيرها من البوفيهات القديمة تسمى باسم مختلف على الاقل في اللوحات، يطلقون عليها “مقصف” وهو المسمى المتعارف لدينا داخل المدرسة حين نقوم بشراء افطارنا. قمت بالسؤال عن هذا الامر واكتشفت ان الجديد منها يطلقون عليها اسم بوفيه حالياً
I arrived to another market which is called AlSannar Street Market, which is around King Fahad Mosque. The market was being repaired by the government to make it more modern in a traditional way
وصلت إلى سوق شارع السنار والذي يقع بمنتصفه جامع الملك فهد. في ذلك الوقت البلدية تقوم بإعادة بناء مداخل السوق وممراتها لتصبح بشكل أكثر حداثة وتبقى بطراز تقليدي
In front of this market is a big area almost ready to be given to those who sells on the street specially the women
أمام السوق مساحة كبيرة شيدتها البلدية ك محل للبسطات ( مسمى يطلق على من يبيع بضاعته على بساط أو سجادة صغيرة بالأرض) والغالبية للنساء بالطبع

Even these areas most have old alleys and houses to explore, to document, one day it will be all gone
حتى هذه المنطقة بها الممرات الضيقة والبيوت القديمة التي تحتاج أن تكتشف وتوثق، يوماً ما ستختفي
Question: from the first sight did you know if this was the back or the front of the woman?
سؤال: من النظرة الأولى هل تمكنتم من معرفة أن المرأة هنا تمشي إلى ناحيتي أو بالجهة المعاكسة؟
Unusual sight, they were just in an alley in the middle of nowhere
مشهد غريب، كانوا في أحد الممرات الضيقة بدون أن يكون هناك أي دلالة أنها تتبع أحد ما أو لأحد المباني
I saw this funny Egyptian man when I first arrived, and when I was about to leave, spent some time talking to him, he was a pit shy for the photo
رأيت هذا الرجل المصري الطريف عندما وصلت ورأيته مرة اخرى عندما كنت سأغادر المكان، أمضيت بعض الوقت في التحدث معه ولقد كان خجولاً بعض الشيء للصورة
