Hello and this is the first post for the project from Madinah since 2014 which I only published 2 posts from that year, so I’m gonna post about 4 new posts from my trip in December 2020 starting with this one, I went to AlMughaisilah area which is located south of Prophet Mohammad Mosque (Harm AlNabawi) since this area along with many are old the city municipality decided about a year ago to do major renovation for the houses & buildings (only from the outside) and some unlucky houses got demolished, so some of the scenes are full of those events but still it was good for me to visit this area which was a first time thank to my friend.

مرحبا، وهذه أول تدوينة للمشروع من المدنية المنورة من عام ٢٠١٤ حيث قمت بنشر تدوينتين من ذلك العام، لذلك سأقوم بنشر ٤ تدوينات من رحلتي في ديسمبر ٢٠٢٠ بدءً من هذه. قمت بزيارة حي المغيسلة الذي يقع جنوب المسجد النبوي الشريف ولأن هذه المنطقة والعديد غيرها قديمة قررت البلدية في وقت سابق قبل عام عمل ترميم وتجديد لمعظم البيوت والمباني هناك (شكل خارجي فقط) والبعض الاخر لم يكن الحظ حليفهم حيث تم ولا يزال يتم هدم بعض البيوت، لذا معظم المشاهد ستكون من هذين الأمرين ولكن تبقى جولة جيدة بالنسبة لي خصوصاً أنها زيارتي الأولى للحي والشكر يعود لصديقي.

After we started walking I noticed the changes that I talked about earlier, the theme of painting the buildings & houses in white & green

بعد ما بدأنا الجولة لاحظت التغييرات التي تكلمت عنها سابقاً، التوحيد اللوني للمباني والمنازل باللونين أبيض وأخضر

This building however didn’t get any work, which resamples how most of the old & historic house should be

هذا المبنى لم يلقى أي ترميم، وهو يمثل مظهر المباني القديمة والتاريخية في المنطقة

Going deeper into the area through the alleys

ذهبت في أعماق الحي مروراً بعدة ممرات ضيقة

We’ve met this man who lives here & owns an old house, he told use that he & others weren’t so lucky and their houses either got or will get demolished instead of renovation, we literally saw just standing on the rubbles in silence

إلتقينا بهذا الرجل الذي يعيش هنا ويملك أيضاً منزلاً قديماً، يقول بأنه مع اخرين لم يكونوا محظوظين ومنازلهم تعرضت وستتعرض إلى الهدم بدلاً من التجديد، شاهدناه يقف على الأنقاض في حالة صمت

Cats take advantage of an abounded houses & uses a small hole in the door to come in & out

قطط تستغل أحد المنازل المهجورة وتستخدم فتحة صغيرة بالباب للدخول والخروج

Old doors, windows and walls | أبواب، نوافذ وجدران قديمة

I met this old man who lived here his entire life, he’s used to sit here in this spot until sunset

قابلت هذا الرجل المسن الذي عاش طول حياته في هذا الحي، واعتاد على الجلوس في هذا المكان حتى غروب الشمس

At the end of the walk I see these kids playing football and some are barefoot on hard ground

في نهاية جولتي رأيت مجموعة من الأطفال يلعبون كرة القدم وبعضهم حافي القدمين على أرض قاسية
