Day 43 – Buraydah Part 2

In another morning I returned to Buraydah, Qassim to one of the markets down town. Sadly the market is being redecorated and a lot of work there, then I found a space area for Craftsmen and luckily I found 2 old men working there & a collector who has a large collection in his shop, some for display and other are not for sale. So in this post I’ll be displaying stories more then the usual. If you didn’t see Part 1 from Buraydah please do!

في صباح اخر توجهت أيضاً إلى بريدة في منطقة القصيم لزيارة احد الأسواق في وسط المدينة، للأسف كان السوق المقصود يعاد ترميمه بالكامل لذا لم يكن بالمكان المثالي للتصوير، بعد تجولي وجدت بالقرب منه سوق الحرفيين الذي قامت البلدية ببناءه وتوفيره للحرفيين الموجودين بالمنطقة، لحسن الحظ وجدت اثنين من كبار السن وهم يمارسون حرفتهم. لذا في هذه التدوينة سأقوم بعرض قصص أكثر من العادة وأكثر من صور التي تمثل حياة الشارع. إذا لم تشاهد الجزء الأول من مدينة بريدة اضغط هنا !

For the 2nd year: 12 Hours on the streets of Dammam

In Saturday 19th of March 2016 for the 2nd year in the 24 hour project event which is a street photography project started 5 years ago, I participated with this event for 12 hours straight in Dammam, Saudi Arabia! If you haven’t seen my 2015 12 Hours on the Street of Dammam please do. It was another great experience for my photographic skill to put on the test, I always wanted to do a long walk and random street shooting, this is the life I love to be in, so again I used my fujifilm X100s & this time I depended on the JPG format that the camera produce so I sometime switch it to b/w mode to color mode with sitting already saved in the camera, it really helped me get a lot of great photos in great shape without any processing. This time I took a lot of photo comparing to last year so it was tough to narrow it down,  since I ended up with 70+ photos ( I know it’s too much ). I decided to show you half of it. Enjoy!

في يوم السبت ١٩ مارس ٢٠١٦ للسنة الثانية على التوالي لمشروع تصوير ٢٤ ساعة وهو حدث عالمي يهتم بتصوير حياة الشارع وتوثيقها، بدأ هذا المشروع قبل ٥ سنوات ولقد شاركت هذه السنة لمدة ١٢ ساعة متواصلة في شوارع الدمام بالسعودية! اذا لم تشاهدوا نتائج نسخة السنة الماضية من تدوينتي شاهدوها الان. لقد كانت تجربة رائعة لاختبار مهاراتي التصويرية في حياة الشارع، لقد رغبت منذ فترة طويلة المشي والتصوير بشكل عشوائي من حياة الشارع، تلك هي الحياة التي أحبها حقيقة، استخدمت كاميرتي الفوجي اكس ١٠٠ اس واعتمدت هذه المرة على صور جاي بي جي بدل من صور الراو وكنت أحول الاعدادات بين الملونة والاحادية في اعدادات مسبقة ومحفوظة، ساعدني كثيراً هذا الشيء في الحصول على صور ليست بحاجة إلى معالجة بتاتاً. كانت نتائجي كثيرة هذه المرة وبعضها دسم مقارنة بالسنة الماضية، بعد الفرز حصلت على اكثر من ٧٠ صورة وهو عدد كبير! لذلك قررت بمشاركتكم نصف هذا العدد، اتمنى ان تستمتعوا بها!

Day 43 – Buraydah Part 1

Finally back to continue publishing through my Saudi Street Project. Last month I went to Al-Qassim Region where I visited a couple of cities there, in this one I’ll start showing you Buraydah city which is the main city in Al-Qassim, I went to a popular market called AlJaradah, I spent my entire morning there and the surrounding area, it was worth it despise some said it’s not a place where people agree with photography but I did anyways

عدت لإكمال نشر مشروع حياة الشارع السعودي من خلال هذه المدونة. الشهر الماضي قمت بالذهاب في رحلة إلى منطقة القصيم وقمت بزيارة عدة مدن بها، في هذه التدوينة سأبدأ مع مدينة بريدة وهي المدينة الرئيسية في القصيم، ذهبت إلى أحد الأسواق ويدعى سوق الجردة وأمضيت صباحي هناك متجولاً في السوق وما حوله ولقد كان الأمر يستحق على الرغم من أن البعض قال لي بأن هناك من لن يرغب بالتصوير ولكن ذهبت على أي حال

Day 42 – Khamis Mushait

So this is the last post from my trip to Asir & Najran, this is a city called Khamis Mushait that is only 20 min away from Abha so I decided to make a quick visit to it’s central market, since it’s a market and I’ve come in a busy morning, I’ve decided to only photograph with my X100s aiming only for street shots. After opening the folder and reviewing my results, I found out that most are just street shots and a few documentary so I wanted to present all of it only in black & white. Hope you enjoy this one!

Note: I don’t have caption for most of the photos, so you’re gonna see them in sets

اذن هذه هي أخر تدوينة من رحلتي الاخير والتي كانت لمنطقة عسير ونجران، هذه المدينة تسمى ب خميس مشيط وهي بالقرب من مدينة أبها قرابة ٢٠ دقيقة بالسيارة لذلك قررت القيام بزيارة سريعة للسوق المركزي للمدينة، بما أنه كان سوقاً في صباح مزدحم نوعاً، قررت التصوير بكاميرا اكس ١٠٠ اس لهدف الحصول على حياة الشارع فقط. بعد فتح المجلد الخاص بالنتائج، تبين لي أن معظم الصور فعلاً كانت من حياة الشارع وقليل هي الصور التوثيقية للمكان لذلك أردت أن اقدمها لكم بالأسود والأبيض فقط. أتمنى أن تستمتعوا بها!

Day 41 – Najran Part 4

This is a mini blog post of my project, it’s not a complete story but I really wanted to post this, this is part 4 from Najran city ( again if you haven’t seen the previous parts please check them first Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 ) in the late evening my friend whom he took me around the city wanted to me to see a beautiful part from Najran, it’s an area where lots of farm fields with houses old or new in it. When I saw it, I was amazed by the green color surrounding that many old and traditional houses that are still been used! it was a quick visit because there wasn’t enough time before sunset.

تدوينة صغيرة من مشروعي ( صغيرة مقارنة بالتدوينات السابقة ). وأيضاً لأنها غير مكتملة ولكنني أريد حقاً وضعها ومشاركتها معكم، هذه تدوينة الجزء الرابع من مدينة نجران ( إذا لم تشاهدوا الاجزاء السابقة، شاهدوها أولاً هنا الجزء الأول، الجزء الثاني والجزء الثالث ) في أخر النهار أخذني صديقي إلى أحد الأحياء التي تعتبر جزء من واجهة نجران الجميلة، هو حي زراعي ولكنه يحتوي على منازل منها القديمة التراثية ومنها الحديثة. عندما رأيتها للمرة الأولى دهشت لكمية الألوان الخضراء هناك والتي تحيط من كل جانب أحد البيوت التراثية القديمة والتي لا يزال بعضها حتى الان يستخدم! لقد كانت جولة سريعة بسبب أنه لم يكن هناك وقت حتى غروب الشمس

Day 41 – Najran Part 3

We continue to show you more from Najran city with this part ( If you haven’t seen Part 1 or Part 2 please do ). My friend took me to the Historical Amara Palace which was the government building the residence for the ruler of Najran which was built 75 years ago and in front of it was the old houses for the people back then, sadly these house are long gone and demolished leaving a large area of empty space, that what took me find that there was an old area which is my main subject in my project ( I mean by that from 20 to 50 years old ). So in Part 3 from Najran city I’ve gone to what they call the Women’s Market and this old area and its people that were so nice to me considering I’m a stranger for them.

أكمل معكم مع صور أكثر من نجران مع هذا الجزء ( اذا لم تشاهدوا الجزء الأول أو الجزء الثاني من نجران شاهدها أولاً ). أخذني صديقي إلى قصر الأمارة التاريخي في نجران والذي يعتبر المبنى الحكومي ومسكن حاكم نجران ذاك الوقت والذي بني قبل ٧٥ سنة وكان جواره الحي التراثي القديم ببيوته القديمة يسكنها أهل نجران قديماً، بشكل مؤسف هذه البيوت هدمت وتلاشت قبل مدة من الزمن ولم يبقى إلا أرض فارغة أمام القصر وهذا بالضبط ما أوصلني إلى الحي المجاور له وهو حي قديم والذي دائماً أهدف له في هذا المشروع ( أقصد بالقديم ما يكون بين ٢٠ إلى ٥٠ سنة بالعمر ) لذا في الجزء الثالث من مدينة نجران ذهبت إلى ما يطلق عليه سوق الحريم وهذا الحي وبسكانه والذين كانوا لطيفين جداً معي على الرغم من كوني غريب بالنسبة لهم.

Day 41 – Najran Part 2

And with Part 2 from Najran city from Day 41( If you haven’t seen Part 1 please do first ) I continue with my friend around the city heading the famous Daggers Market which represent a tradition for the people in the south of Saudi Arabia. There I saw dozens of Daggers in different shapes and quality and price which is between 300 SR – 20,000 SR! and in the black markets it could go on to 80,000 SR! And there are still very famous Saudi people who still work their and many reach for them because of their experience.

ومع الجزء الثاني من مدينة نجران لتدوينة اليوم ٤١ ( إذا لم تشاهد الجزء الأول اضغط هنا ) أكمل تجولي مع صديقي في المدينة متجهين إلى سوق الجنابي المشهور في نجران والذي يمثل عادة معروفة ومتوارثة لدى أهل الجنوب في المملكة. هناك شاهدت العشرات من الخناجر والجنابي بأشكالها المتنوعة وبجودتها المختلفة، أسعار الخنجر يتراوح ما بين ٣٠٠ ريال سعودي – ٢٠ ألف ريال سعودي! وفي سوق السوداء من الممكن أن يصل إلى ٨٠ ألف ريال! وما يزال هناك سعوديين معروفين يعملون في محلاتهم والبعض يستعين بهم لخبراتهم في هذا المجال.

Day 41 – Najran part 1

In continuing my project this is part 1 from Day 41 in Najran city located in the South Region in Saudi Arabia which I visited in my last trip for this Street Project. I spent a day & a half in Najran which was a mistake! I should have stayed 5 days at least, but still I got a lot of photos and stories around. In this post my first visit was the sheep market which is located south the city, not outside of it like most of the major cities nowadays, the market was just like the one I visit with my father 20 years ago here in Dammam, of course the people are way different. Here I’ll show you glimpse of the market the people who make their living from it.

اكمالاً لمشروعي هذا هو الجزء الأول من من اليوم ٤١ من مدينة نجران والتي تقع جنوب المملكة بالقرب من حدود الجمهورية اليمنية والتي قمت بزيارتها في رحلتي الأخيرة لتصوير مشروع حياة الشارع السعودي. لقد أمضيت هناك قرابة اليوم والنصف والتي كانت غلطة مني بحيث كنت أحتاج إلى قرابة ٥ أيام! ولكن مع ذلك استطعت الحصول على عدد جيد من الصور والقصص. في هذه التدوينة كانت زيارتي الأولى في المدينة في سوق الغنم المحلي والذي يقع جنوب المدينة وليس خارجها كما هو الحال في أغلب المدن الكبرى في المملكة، السوق يذكرني تماماً كما كنت أتجول مع والدي قبل ٢٠ سنة في سوق الغنم بالدمام سابقاً ولكن الناس هناك مختلفون بالتأكيد، سأعرض عليكم لمحات من هذا السوق ومن العاملين فيه والذين يكسبون رزقهم اليومي منه.

12 Hours on the Streets of Dammam

24 Hour Project is a yearly world wide photographic event that document the streets from the eyes of many in a single day which was the 21st of March 2015 sharing them live on Instagram. As a street photographer I found it a great opportunity to exercise my street photography skills even more by doing a non-stop 12 hour walk in my city since I know it very well, and share a photo every hour on Instagram using my fuji X100s in shooting & my favorite app in editing which is VSCOcam ! This is all the photos I’ve captured plus the ones that already published in Instagram of the 12 hour non-stop of street photography in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
مشروع تصوير ٢٤ ساعة هو حدث عالمي سنوي مهتم بتوثيق حياة الشارع عن طريق الكثير من مصوري حياة الشارع في يوم واحد والذي صادف ٢١ مارس ٢٠١٥ لكي تتم مشاركتها بشكل مباشر في انستغرام. كمصور مهتم في حياة الشارع وجدتها فرصة جيدة لتمرين مهاراتي في هذا المجال عن طريق القيام بجولة من ١٢ ساعة مشي بلا توقف في مدينتي الحالية والتي أعرفها جيداً، مشاركاً بصورة في كل ساعة مستخدماً كاميرتي فوجي اكس ١٠٠ اس في التصوير و تطبيقي المفضل على الاطلاق في المعالجة وهو فيسكو بكل تأكيد ! هذه هي كل الصور التي إلتقطتها بالإضافة إلى ما تم نشره مسبقاً في حسابي الانستغرام من جولة ١٢ ساعة بلا توقف في حياة الشارع في الدمام – السعودية .

Day 40 – Asir

Hello all, finally I am able to post a new post blog to continue my Street Project and very excited to show you the photos I capture it recently at last ! 3 weeks ago I traveled to Asir Region which is located in the south west of Saudi Arabia, I was aiming really at capturing the streets in Abha city in Asir, but I found myself somehow forced to travel along to capture only for the Old Markets in the Region. Since Asir is a Mountain Environment it’s completely different from any other Region in the Kingdom, the weather and the streets are different which gave me good subject to photograph not to mention the kindness of the people too. In this post I will give you a glimpse of my trip there, so photos are from different places scattered and from about 3 days in time, it will be much like a report showing what I saw that represented the street & people’s life ! please be aware that there is more then 100 photo in this page so give some time to load, enjoy it !

مرحبا بكم جميعاً، أخيراً بإستطاعتي كتابة تدوينة جديدة أكمل بها مشروع حياة الشارع الذي بدأته ومتحمس لكي أعرض لكم ما قمت بإلتقاطه مؤخراً ! قبل ٣ أسابيع قمت بالسفر إلى منطقة عسير والتي تقع جنوب غرب المملكة العربية السعودية، كنت أهدف حقيقة إلى تصوير الحياة فقط في مدينة أبها في عسير ولكن وجدت نفسي مجبراً نوعاً ما إلى التنقل حول المدن المتواجدة حول أبها لإلقتاط صور من الأسواق الشعبية والبيوت الموجودة على الجبال. وبما أن عسير هي منطقة جبلية فهي مختلفة تماماً عن أي منطقة اخرى بالمملكة، الطقس مختلف والشوارع مختلفة والتي أعطتني مواضيع جيدة لتصويرها وإبرازها في تدوينتي ولا أنسى طيبة أهلها أيضاً ! في هذه التدوينة سأعرض لكم لمحة من رحلتي هناك لذلك عرض الصور سيكون مختلفاً قليلاً لأنها ستكون من أماكن عدة ومدن مختلفة وفي أوقات مختلفة حيث إلتقطتها في ٣ أيام مختلفة. ستكون مثل التقرير والذي سيعرض لكم ما رأيته من حياة الشارع وحياة الناس ! الرجاء الانتباه بأن هناك أكثر من ١٠٠ صورة في هذه الصفحة لذى كونوا صبورين ، أتمنى أن تستمتعوا بها !ـ
