One of the places which I want to revisit for the 3rd time in Najran, Saudi Arabia is the south side of the city which there is a large area if of farms, old traditional houses, simple & welcoming people.
أحد الأماكن التي أود زيارتها للمرة الثالثة في نجران جنوب السعودية هي المنطقة التي تقع جنوب المدينة وتحتوي على مساحة كبيرة من المزارع، بيوت الطين القديمة، اناس مرحبين وطيبون.
My sister has taken my dear mother’s way of cocking & preparing one of the most known traditional meal in Ramadan in AlHasa & the gulf countries in general which is called “Harisah” it’s the name of seeds mixed with either meat or chicken, but the famous are meat. It usually takes about 6 hours in the oven in order to be fully cooked, after that it needs to be manually mixing it in the pot itself (the photo) with a special wooden stick in order to mix the seeds & the meat really good, then it will be served in plates plus making a very delicious soup after adding hot water & salt.
أختي تعلمت طريقة أمي العزيزة في إعداد وتجهيز أحد أشهر الأطباق التقليدية في الأحساء ودول الخليج بشكل عام في رمضان وتتكون بشكل رئيسي من حبوب الهريس مع اللحم أو الدجاج ولكن الأشهر هو استخدام اللحم. تحتاج عادة إلى ٦ ساعات في الفرن لكي تنضج بشكل كامل، بعد ذلك يتم بشكل يدوي خلط الحبوب مع اللحم وتسمى هذه العملية بـ (ضرب الهريسة) بإستخدام عصا خشبية خاصة لهذا الأمر، بعد ذلك يتم التقديم في صحون ويمكن استخدام جزء منها في تجهيز شوربة الهريسة اللذيذة بإضافة الماء الحار والملح.

On my last trip to Najran, Saudi Arabia which was on March 2018 I went early morning to the local camel market which is still located South west the city. The market was crowded considering the early time, people from the market & individuals gather in one place in order to put their camels into different auctions or just sell them if they got a good price, a lot of pickup cars are modified to have a crane in order to load & unload the camels while other tend to use the old fashioned way by just carrying the camel by hand by a group of people, here are some of the photos I’ve captured from their.
في اخر رحلة إلى مدينة نجران جنوب السعودية والتي كانت في شهر مارس ٢٠١٨ استيقظت مبكراً وتوجهت إلى سوق الأبل جنوب غرب المدينة. السوق كان مكتظاً بالناس على الرغم من الوقت المبكر صباحاً، الرعاة من السوق والأفراد يجتمعون في محيط واحد لكي يقوموا بعرض ما لديهم من الأبل سواء عن طريق المزايدة والبيع المعتاد، الكثير من سيارات ذات الأحواض تحتوي على رافعة تم تركيبها خصيصاً لتحميل وتنزيل الابل ولكن توجد أيضاً سيارات بلا رافعات يقوموا أصحابها بإتباع الطريقة التقليدية المتعارف عليها وهي بتحميل الابل وتنزيل يدوياً عن طريق مجموعة من الأشخاص، هذه بعض الصور التي قمت بإلتقاطها من السوق.
في أحد زاويا سوق الجنابي بمدينة نجران جنوب السعودية، تقع ورشة صغيرة يعمل بها أبوغالب، صالح فرج بوطهيف حداد ورثة هذه المهنة من والده قبل ٤٠ عام وهي مهنة متوارثة في العائلة، جاء قبل ٢٠ سنة من محافظة حضرموت باليمن إلى مدينة نجران بداعي الاستفادة من مهنته كـ حداد في المدينة.
In one of the corners of AlJanabi Market in Najran city South of Saudi Arabia, there located a small workshop where Abu Ghalib works, Saleh Faraj is a blacksmith who inherited his profession from his late father 40 years ago, he came from Hadhramaut which is a province in Yemen to Najran 20 years ago to work as blacksmith in the city.
So in the previous post I talked about a great spot located on AlSawda Mountain in Abha which my friend told me about it and took me there. These shots are from the well known spots on AlSawda mountain that people usually go to enjoy the scenes & the weather, so I photographed these moments as I saw them and I got to tell you the scenes of the clouds with the sunset is mind blown and definitely gonna go back there!
في التدوينة السابقة تكلمت عن مكان رائع موجود في جبل السودة في أبها وهو المكان الذي أخبرني عنه صديقي وأخذني إلى هناك، أما هذا الموقع هو المتعارف لدى أغلب الناس عندما تريد الذهاب إلى جبل السودة للإستمتاع بالأجواء والمشاهدة الرائعة، قمت بتصوير بعض اللحظات هناك كما رأيتها ولابد علي القول أن مشاهد السحب مع غروب الشمس شيء مذهل جداً وبكل تأكيد ستكون لدي عودة هناك!

عبدالله بن محمد الرباعي الغامدي أبوعبدالرحمن من قلب مدينة الباحة امتهن مهنة الخياطة للزي النسائي التراثي لأهل الجنوب منذو الصغر، كان أبوعبدالرحمن متواجداً في مدينة الطائف لمدة ٤٠ عام يعمل خياطاً قبل أن ينتقل من هناك إلى الباحة قبل قرابة ١٠ سنوات، بعد ذلك أصبح يعمل في هذا المحل الصغير وهو من ضمن عدة محلات لسوق صغير للأعمال التراثية المتعددة.
Aduallah Bin Mohammed AlGhamdi (Abu Abdurahman) from the heart of AlBahah city, he worked as tailor for traditional women dress from a young age, Abu Abdurahman lived in Taif city & worked for 40 years as a tailor before moving from there to AlBahah city 10 years ago, after that he started working in this small space which is part of small building for Heritage shops.
في خلال زيارتي لمدينة الطائف غرب المملكة العام الماضي قمت بالذهاب على طريق جبل الهدا المؤدي إلى مكة المكرمة وفي توجد نقطة في قمة الجبل بجانب الطريق تطل على نفس الطريق نزولاً وتطل على باقي المنطقة هناك في منظر بديع وجميل، اعتاد البعض المجيء هنا لقضاء الوقت في وقت العصر حتى المغرب والغالبية هم من الشباب وهذه بعض الصور من هناك.
In my visit to Taif city located west in Saudi Arabia last year I went to AlHada mountain road which leads to Makkah city, and at the top beside the road there is a lookout for the rest of the road and the area around, the view is very beautiful and people hang out here usually before sunset, these are some the photos I’ve captured from there.
عباس خوجة (بومحمد) يعمل في مجال صيانة مكائن الخياطة التقليدية وتصليحها منذ حوالي ٥٠ عاماً وبدأت المهنة من والده في سوق البلد في مدينة الطائف والذي تعلم صيانتها وإصلاحها منه.
Abbas Khojah (Abu Mohammed) works in fixing traditional sewing machines for 50 years and it’s all started from his late father in Central Market in Taif City which he taught him everything he knows about tailoring machines.
أحمد صالح (أبوخالد) في السبعين من عمره يمني الجنسية من سكان مدينة الطائف، عاش بداية حياته في اليمن وكان مزارعاً قبل أن يبدأ عمله في الخياطة.
Ahmed Saleh (Abu Khaled) a Yemeni at the age of 70 years old from the residents of Taif city in Saudi Arabia, his early life was in Yemen and worked as a farmer before starting to be a tailor.
I’ve met with a photographer from Bahrain in order to visit an old area, so we went to AlBilad AlQadeem Village located in the south-west of Manama, Bahrain which was originally at some point the capital of Bahrain before Manama, I’ve found lots great scene worth capturing & loved how the people interacted, I noticed that it has farms outside and some small ones inside the area. Here are some the photos I’ve captured.
قابلت مع أحد المصورين من البحرين الذي أخذني إلى أحد الأحياء القديمة لديهم، لذا ذهبنا إلى البلاد القديم وهي قرية تقع جنوب غرب المنامة في البحرين والتي كانت في وقت ما عاصمة البحرين قبل انتقالها إلى المنامة، وجدت هناك الكثير من المشاهد التي تستحق التصوير وأحببت طريقة تفاعل الناس مع المصور، لاحظت كذلك وجود بعض المزارع في طرف القرية وداخلها. هذه بعض الصور التي إلتقطتها من هناك.
