في أحد أقدم الأحياء في الدمام تقع خيمة صغيرة وسط أرض فضاء محاطة بالأشجار وضعها بعض كبار السن من أهل الحي وهي بمثابة المتنفس لهم، أطلقت عليها اسم خيمة الدواسر لسبب أن الحي يطلق عليه بـ حي الدواسر. بوهشام وبومحمد وبوخالد قد اعتادوا لفترة طويلة بعد تقاعدهم من العمل قضاء أوقاتهم هنا بفترات متقطعة وبشكل يومي بالإضافة إلى أشخاص اخرين.

In one of the oldest areas in Dammam a small tent located in an empty land surrounded by green trees and it was put together by some local old men which is consider a relaxing spot for them, I called it AlDawaser Tent because this area is called AlDawaser neighborhood. Abu Hesham, Abu Mohammad and Abu Khaled are used to be here for a long time after their retirement from their work and they spend their time here daily in different timing with other people.

يذكر جمعة الدوسري أبوهشام أنه عندما كان في الخامسة عشر من عمره كان يدخل البحر مع والده رحمة الله عليه من أجل الصيد وبعد أن أكمل العشرين من عمره بدأ بالعمل في جمارك ميناء الملك عبدالعزيز بالدمام وذكر أن راتبه في ذلك الوقت كان فقط ٢٤٥ ريال وكان ذلك قبل ٦٠ عاماً، اعتاد بعد انتهاء نوبة العمل إلى الذهاب لبيع السمك في السوق. أبو هشام في ٨٣ من عمره تقاعد من عمله قبل ٢٣ عاماً ولديه ٤ أولاد و ٦ بنات.

Juma’ah AlDawsari (Abu Hesham) says when he was 15 years old used to go fishing in the sea with his late father and after turning 20 he begun working in the customs at King Abdulaziz Seaport in Dammam and he mention that he’s salary was only 245 SR at that time which is 60 years ago, he also used to finish his work shift then go the market to sell fish there. Abu Hesham is 83 years old retired from his work 23 years ago and have 4 boys & 6 girls.

علي خليل النشمي أبوخالد يذكر أنه بدأ العمل في شبابه في خطوط السكة الحديدية وكان يتقاضى راتب لا يتجاوز ١٥٠ ريال في وقتها، على مر السنين انتقل من عمل إلى اخر، عمل كـ سائق في ادارة التعليم لفترة وأيضاً في جامعة الملك فهد للبترول والمعادن لفترة اخرى. أبوخالد لديه ولد واحد وابنتين.

Ali AlNashmi (Abu Khaled) says he begun working in railways corporation and his salary was no more then 150 SR at the time, over the years he shifted himself from job to another, he worked as driver in the education administration and also in King Fahad University. Abu Khaled has only one boy and 2 girls.

يقول مبارك لحدان الدوسري أبومحمد في بداية شبابه عمل في امارة المنطقة الشرقية في الدمام لفترة وجيزة وبعدها تقدم للعمل في أرامكو وبقي هناك لمدة ٤٤ عاماً، وخلال ذلك يذكر أنه بدأ براتب ٤ ريال ونصف بالأسبوع وتقاعد وراتبه يفوق ١٠ ألاف ريال في الشهر.

Mubark ALDawsari (Abo Mohammad) says at young age he begun working in the Eastern Province Emirate for a short time then he applied to Aramco and stayed there for 44 years, also mentions that he begun with 4.5 SR week salary and retired at 10,000 SR month salary.

Mohammad AlDawsari (Abo Sultan) was silent most of the time and they call him the Mayor.

تعرضت الخيمة في وقت ما قبل إلتقاط الصور بسنة تقريباً لحادثة حريق بسبب بعض التوصيلات الكهربائية ولم يتعرض أحد لأذى وقاموا جميعاً بترميمها من جديد بسبب أن هذا هو المكان المفضل لديهم، ومن حسن الحظ وجدت بعض الصور القديمة في أرشيفي للخيمة قبل احتراقها إلتقطت في نوفمبر ٢٠١٣.

The tent in sometime before taking these photos had caught in fire because some electrical wiring and no one got hurt and they all worked to renew it together because this is their favorite place, luckily I found some old photos in my archive for the tent before the fire taken in November 2013.
