Hello all, this is a start for a new long term photography project which I’ve talked about before here and it’s called Saudi Life Story, which is meant for anyone men or women, old or young that are living in Saudi Arabia ( not necessarily a Saudi ) Enjoy the first story!

مرحبا بالجميع، بداية مشروع فوتوغرافي جديد طويل الأجل والذي تكلمت عنه هنا سابقاً وهو بعنوان قصص حياة السعودية، والذي يكون بشكل عام على الرجال والنساء، الكبار والصغار منهم والذين يعيشون داخل السعودية (وليس بالضرورة من الجنسية السعودية) استمتعوا بأول قصة!

In Jeddah AlBalad, West of Saudi Arabia there is a an old cafe which was running for decades, it used to serve all kind of shisha but the in the last 3 years they stopped from serving it and they only serve tea, or milk tea. It’s not about the tea itself, it’s about the place what people drives them to be here mostly are foreigns of course.

في مدينة جدة، والتي تقع غرب المملكة العربية السعودية يوجد مقهى قديم في جدة البلد والذي يعمل منذ عقود، كان المقهى يقدم جميع أنواع الشيشة ولكن قبل بضعة سنين توقف عن ذلك وأصبح فقط يقدم الشاي أو الشاي مع الحليب. الأمر ليس متعلقاً بالشاي بنفسه للقدوم هنا ولكن المكان هو ما يدفع الناس لذلك بشكل روتيني والذين معظهم من الأجانب

Ibrahim works here for about 8 years now and he start working early morning by himself

إبراهيم يعمل هنا منذ قرابة ٨ سنوات وهو يبدأ العمل يومياً من ساعات الصباح الأولى بنفسه

Ibrahim a 50 year old man from Taiz in Yemen which is a city in the southwestern Region almost between Sana’a & Aden.

إبراهيم في الخمسين من عمره والذي يعود أصله من محافظة تعز من دولة اليمن، محافظة تعز تقع في الجنوب الغربي للدولة وتقريباً هي بين العاصمة صنعاء من الجنوب ومحافظة عدن من الشمال

According to Ibrahim this cafe opened more then 50 years ago, and there is only a small space for storage & making the tea plus another small space for the shisha ( in the past ) and all the tables are outside all time of the year

يقول إبراهيم أن هذا المقهى افتتح قبل أكثر من ٥٠ عاماً، ويوجد هناك مساحة صغيرة تستخدم للتخزين ولتجهيز الشاي بالإضافة إلى غرفة خارجية صغيرة كانت تستخدم لتجهيز الشيشة في السابق ( والأن مغلقة ) وكل الطاولات المستخدمة للزبائن موجودة بالخارج بشكل شبه عشوائي طوال أيام السنة

Ibrahim has a great popularity among the regular costumers who some consider him more then just a cafe man

إبراهيم لديه شعبية كبيرة من الاشخاص الذين يتواجدون بشكل روتيني هنا ويعتبرونه أكثر من مجرد عامل يقدم لهم الشاي

In the few times I saw Ibrahim, he was always smiling, confident & loves his work. I hope to meet him again if I got back to Jeddah, he deserves that & more

في خلال المرات القليلة الذي رأيت فيها إبراهيم كان دائم الابتسامة، واثق من نفسه ويحب عمله. أتمنى ألقاه مجدداً قمت بزيارة مدينة جدة مرة اخرى، هو شخص يستحق ذلك وأكثر
