Hello all, this is the last post for my trip that I took 4 months ago, but not that last for the blog for sure ! Again with Al-Madinah city I’ve had the chance to go to a more active and large area near Al-Haram called Al-Sieh with the help of a photographer friend, we’ve gone their after the noon directly so we can have lots of time to photograph. It was really another different face for Al-Madinah and this area is going to be demolished in the near future because it’s very close from Al-Harm from the west side. This post in an amazing way have 100% b/w photos ( didn’t plane for it, it just went to like this ) and have the most photos from any other post because if the stories and the places their were a lot and worth showing it here. I hope you feel the same thing as I went over and over in looking at these photos !

مرحبا بكم جميعاً، هذه اخر تدوينة من رحلتي التي قمت بها إلى المنطقة الغربية قبل قرابة ٤ أشهر، وبالطبع ليست التدوينة الاخيرة للمدونة ! مرة اخرى في المدينة المنورة حظيت بالفرصة للذهاب لحي أكثر نشاط وحيوية وفي وقت حيوي بالقرب من الحرم الشريف ويدعى حي السيح، ذهبت هناك بمساعدة أحد الزملاء الفوتوغرافيين بعد صلاة العصر مباشرة لكي يتسنى لي التصوير بأريحية وبوقت طويل. هذه التدوينة بشكل مذهل أنتجت صورة أحادية بالكامل ( لم يكن من تخطيط مسبق وكانت ارتجالية فقط أثناء المعالجة والفرز ) وأيضاً تحتوي على أكبر عدد صور في أي تدوينة اخرى بسبب كمية القصص والحياة الموجودة هناك. أتمنى أن تشعروا بما أشعر به حين أرى هذه الصورة مراراً وتكراراً !

وبدأنا جولتنا الفوتوغرافية مع صديقي في هذا الحي

At first sigh it was like any old area, random streets layouts, old doors & walk writings

في البداية كان كأي حي قديم آخر، تخطيط شوارع عشوائي، أبواب قديمة وكتابات على الجدران

Then we advance more inside and saw what really makes it another world, you will see what I mean after a few photos

بعدها تجولنا أكثر ورأيت تلك الأماكن التي تجعل هذا الحي عالم مختلف، ستعرفون ما أعني بعد بضعة صورة

Young man that lives in this area, he was happy at the idea about photographing area’s like this

شاب يعيش في هذا الحي، لقد كان سعيداً عن ما أقوم به من تصوير لهذا الحي وللأحياء الاخرى

And through a small alley the houses, streets and the atmosphere changed !

وعن طريق زقاق ضيق البيوت والشوارع وحتى الجو نفسه تغير !

This area of small houses and narrow alleys that were sometime 2 meters wide is just weird to be in it, while I’m in Al-Madinah, it just reminds me in my photo walk in Makkah !

هذه البيوت الصغيرة والأزقة الضيقة والتي أحيانا يكون عرضها فقط مترين ! هي غريبة حقاً أن أكون بها وأنا لازلت بالمدينة وبالقرب من الحرم، وهي تذكرني بجولتي التي كانت في مكة !

Like any small and old area, it has dead end alleys with doors for old houses usually small ones

مثل أي حي قديم وصغير، توجد ممرات متعددة ومغلقة في النهاية بمدخل منازل التي عادة تكون صغيرة

Saudi family live here near the old area, I was surprised by them. When I talked to the father he confirmed to me that there isn’t many saudi families around here

عائلة سعودية تعيش بالقرب من الحي القديم، لقد كنت متفاجئاً بهم. عندما تحدثت مع الأب آكد لي أنه بالفعل لا يوجد عوائل سعودية إلا بعد قليل

Just around the corner this small streets that has a lot of stories, woman spending their time beside their home, bread is left under the sun to dry and even kids with their school bag going to study at their friends house

خلف تلك الزاوية يقبع ذلك الشارع الصغير التي يحتوي على الكثير من القصص، النساء يقضون أوقاتهم بجانب منازلهم، كميات من الخبز موجودة بالخارج لكي تجف تحت الشمس وأيضاً الاطفال مع الشنطة المدرسية يذهبون إلى بيوت أصدقائهم ليدرسون

These how the generation is acting outside together, even in the humble places

هكذا يتصرف الجيل الحالي في الخارج مع بعضهم البعض، حتى في الأحياء المتواضعة

Again and every where you see beside the doors those numbers, I admit see and knowing it hurts

مرة اخرى نرى هذه الارقام بجانب أبواب هذه المنازل المتواضعة، أعترف رؤيتها ومعرفة سبب شيء مؤلم

There is a mountain on the north side of this area, and I had the chance to get on top of it !

هناك جبل في الجهة الشمالية من الحي وكانت لي الفرصة في الوصول إلى قمته !

This is an entrance for a mosque that has a number too !

هذا مدخل لمسجد ولديه رقم بجانب الباب أيضاً !

من هنا اتجهت إلى الجبل لكي أتمكن من الوصول إلى الأعلى

After I got up the mountain, there was an untold story awaits us

بعد أن وصلت إلى أعلى الجبل، كانت هناك قصة غير معروفة تنتظرنا

The view for this area. I was supposed to be able to see Al-Harm from here in the first photo, but sadly the hotels surround it are blocking the view

المنظر من هنا لهذا الحي. كان من المفترض أن أكون قادراً على رؤية الحرم النبوي في الصورة الأولى ولكن للأسف الفنادق المحيطة به تحجب الرؤية

And from the top of the mountain you can see all kind of stories in another way !

Where is he going? where did he come from? what is he doing for living? sometimes I want to ask these questions

Sitting at the mosque door, smiling at people that are walking at the side way, just a normal day

يجلس على باب المسجد، يبتسم للأشخاص الذي يمشون بالقرب منه على الرصيف، مجرد يوم اعتيادي

Maybe this is the only chance that I got to photograph a full house from these old houses, because of the small space of course

ربما كانت هذه الفرصة الوحيدة التي تمكنت من خلالها تصوير منزل بالكامل من بين هذه المنازل القديمة، بالطبع بسبب المساحة الضيقة في أغلب الاحوال
