AlHada Mountain Lookout – Documentary

في خلال زيارتي لمدينة الطائف غرب المملكة العام الماضي قمت بالذهاب على طريق جبل الهدا المؤدي إلى مكة المكرمة وفي توجد نقطة في قمة الجبل بجانب الطريق تطل على نفس الطريق نزولاً وتطل على باقي المنطقة هناك في منظر بديع وجميل، اعتاد البعض المجيء هنا لقضاء الوقت في وقت العصر حتى المغرب والغالبية هم من الشباب وهذه بعض الصور من هناك.

In my visit to Taif city located west in Saudi Arabia last year I went to AlHada mountain road which leads to Makkah city, and at the top beside the road there is a lookout for the rest of the road and the area around, the view is very beautiful and people hang out here usually before sunset, these are some the photos I’ve captured from there.

Extracting Oil the old way from Jazan

When I was on the road from Jazan to Abha I saw in the sideways camels circling around blindfolded with men guiding them. So I stopped my car and it turns out that they are extracting  oil by grinding it, the camel circle around pulling the wooden lever hooked to him plus a big rock in his back so he moves slowly,  all that attached to a pole of wood which is crafted especially for this task and this pole moves as the camels circle in a big wooden pot also especially crafted for this, it turns slowly for hours and grind the seeds into oil called (Smsm Oil) used either for food or healthy choices for woman which is very common in the Southern Region. Another amazing thing that the camel can move & stop by a sound that the owner make which something impressive!

Old Cafe in Qatif – Documentary

Abo Ali rans an old cafe for over 60 years, the small cafe which opens early morning located on one the main streets in Qatif, Saudi Arabia considered to be a well known place among the locals & for some this is their place to meet & catch up for any news, a lot of old men made it a habit to come to this cafe which is manly serve Red Tea for 1 SR in good old fashioned small cups. I tried to show off some the corner of the cafe & Abo Ali while working.

أبوعلي قائم على مقهى قديم منذ أكثر من ٦٠ عاماً، المقهى الصغير يفتح أبوابه في ساعات الصباح المبكرة والذي يقع على أحد الشوارع الرئيسية في القطيف بالمنطقة الشرقية والذي يعتبر هذا المكان معلماً مشهور بين السكان المحليين وبالنسبة للبعض فإن هذا المكان هو للقاء والتحادث ومعرفة اخبار البعض والمجتمع، الكثير من كبار السن اخذت عليهم العادة بالمجيء هنا بشكل شبه يومي والمقهى يقدم الشاي مقابل ريال واحد فقط على الطريقة التقليدية المتعارف عليها في البيوت والمجالس. حاولت أن أظهر بعض زوايا المقهى وعمل أبوعلي في هذه الصور.

Natural water source in AlHasa – Documentary

It’s been a while since I’ve gone out for photography, about 3 months because of the hot weather ( I hate summer ) but I convinced myself to photograph this story because it’s best to do it in within these days before the weather cool down, this is one of the 2 remaining natural water source from underground in AlHasa where locals use it to swim in it & take bath before it goes for nearby farms, I’ve planned to shoot in both morning & evening and it was really worth it! Here are some of the photos.

مضى وقت ليس بالقصير منذ اخر مرة قمت بالتصوير، قرابة ٣ شهور بسبب حرارة الجو ( أكره الصيف ) لكن أقنعت نفسي بالخروج وتصوير هذا الموضوع بسبب أنه يناسب هذه الأجواء، هذا المكان هو أحد اثنين من العيون الجوفية المتبقية بالأحساء في قرية البطالية والتي كانت في الماضي ذات أعداد كبيرة! السكان المحليين يستخدمونها للسباحة والاستحمام قبل أن يذهب الماء في شبكات صرف لسقي النخيل في المزارع القريبة، خططت للتصوير في فترتي الصباح والمساء وكان الأمر يستحق كثيراً، هذه بعض النتائج.

Street walk in my hometown village

Hello all, because my father had to leave AlHasa, AlQarah about 40 years ago for work we live in Dammam ever since but we always kept visiting our hometown village because of our relatives and in different occasions. So it’s natural for me to photograph the village as I admit didn’t do it earlier but happy that I’ve done more then once since 2015. The important of document the lives and the streets of an area lies after a few years ahead, thats why only a few photographers form the region value that and thats what I see in my street photos. Here are a few photos taken in May 2015 as first walk in this village. I already posted a photo from this walk 2 years ago

مرحبا بالجميع، بسبب أن والدي غادر قرية القارة بالأحساء قبل قرابة 40 عاماً بسبب العمل نحن نعيش بالدمام منذ ذلك الوقت ولكننا كنا نداوم على زيارة القرية بسبب وجود أقاربنا ولمختلف المناسبات. لذلك من الطبيعي أن اقوم بتصوير القرية وأعترف أنني لم أفعل ذلك مبكراً ولكن سعيد بأنني قمت بتصويرها أكثر من مرة من 2015. أهمية توثيق الحياة والشارع لمنطقة ما تكمن بعد عدة سنين، لذلك هناك قليل من المصورين من المنطقة الذين يرون هذه القيمة وهذا ما أراه عادة في صور حياة الشارع. هذه بعض الصور التي قمت بتصويرها في مايو 2015 في جولتي الأولى. قمت سابقاً بعرض أحد الصور قبل سنتين

Hello all, another post from my last trip to the South of Saudi Arabia in Jazan Region, if you haven’t seen Part 1 of Jazan please do. The photowalk was in the central market in Jazan which was near the coast and surrounding it was an old area basically on a small mountain, here are some of the photos!

Day 49 – Jazan Part 1

Hello Everybody and another new post blog from latest trip which was to the South of the Kingdom in Jazan Region which is located in the far south west. Jazan was rich of stories and cities worth to explore and take street photography, so I aimed to shoot in Jazan city itself plus 2 weekly markets near the city. Starting off with the fish market in Jazan city, headed there straight in the morning and it was really good choice to be there, here are some of the photos!

مرحبا بالجميع مرة اخرى ومع تدوينة جديدة وهي الأولى من رحلتي الأخيرة إلى المنطقة الجنوبية وتحديداً منطقة جازان والتي تقع في أقصى مساحة في الجنوب الغربي للمملكة. منطقة جازان غنية بالقصص والمدن بها تستحق الاستكشاف والتجول من أجل تصوير حياة الشارع، لذا توجهت للتصوير في مدينة جازان نفسها بالإضافة إلى بعض الأسواق الاسبوعية المعروفة خارج المدينة. وأبدأ هنا مع سوق السمك الموجود في مدينة جازان، توجهت هناك في الصباح الباكر وكان خياراً جيداً، هنا بعض الصور

Day 48 – Ha’il Part 2

Back again with the 2nd Part of Ha’il city and the last post from my north trip which was in 4 different cities in North of Saudi Arabia, if you didn’t see Part 1 of Ha’il city please do! In this part I visited an old area from the city, and met great people over there, there are stories everywhere just waiting to be captured and told.

عودة مرة اخرى مع الجزء الثاني من مدينة حائل واخر تدوينة من رحلة الشمال والتي كانت في ٤ مدن مختلفة، إذا لم تشاهدوا الجزء الأول من مدينة حائل شاهدها اولاً! في هذا الجزء قمت بزيارة أحد الأحياء القديمة في حائل وقابلت هناك اناس رائعون من أهلها، وكان المكان مليء بالقصص تنتظر فقط أن تروى.

Day 48 – Ha’il Part 1

For the last city in my trip to the north of Saudi was Ha’il city in Ha’il Region. The terrain around Ha’il is really beautiful with its mountains plus the people there are very kind! I met up with a photographer friend who was kind to me to take me several places in the city including the heritage market in the old part of the city, near it was several workshop for forging and making a heritage Jug made from copper used for Arabian coffee called “Dallah”, more in the photos

وللمدينة الاخيرة من رحلتي إلى شمال المملكة كانت في مدينة حائل ضمن منطقة حائل. التضاريس حول هذه المدينة من جبال جميلة وملفتة للغاية بالإضافة إلى أن شعبها طيب وكريم للغاية! استقبلني أحد الأصدقاء الفوتوغرافيين والذي أخذني في جولة حول المدينة من ضمنها كان السوق الحريم الشعبي في الجزء القديم من المدينة وكان بالقرب من السوق عدة ورش لصنع الدلال النحاسية والمعدنية المستخدمة في القهوة العربية المعروفة، المزيد في الصور
