Road trip to Riyadh for 2 days

Well it’s been a while since I’ve taken any road trip at all for myself, and for change I didn’t go specially for photography, I have a calisthenics competition that I wanted to attend and luckily they didn’t have any activity in the morning so naturally I had to take the chance and go out for photography! It was the weekends the first day Friday I headed towards AlBatha area downtown which I already visited & posted about several times, it’s an area you can’t get enough with, arrived there not too early so there will be more people & more life there and because it was Friday most of the streets while getting there by the car are almost empty, I may get asked why do you keep going to the same places over & over again, it’s simple I’m just chasing the unusual things in the ordinary places.

The next day I also had free time in the morning so I went to AlZal market, also a market I visited & posted about several times, the atmosphere is completely different from yesterday since it’s one of Riyadh heritage & tourism spot (I also saw a tourist group there by accident) the market is not that big but it’s full of scenes worth capturing and can get you circle around it over & over like I did.

مضى بعض الوقت منذ اخر رحلة برية لأي شيء كان، ومن باب التغيير هذه المرة لم أذهب إلى الرياض من أجل التصوير، كانت هناك بطولة لرياضة الكاليسثنكس ورغبت في الحضور ومن حسن الحظ لم يكن هناك أي فعاليات في وقت الصباح لذلك كنت متفرق وبكل تأكيد خصصت هذا الوقت للذهاب للتصوير! كان الوقت هو العطلة الأسبوعية واليوم الأول هو الجمعة لذا توجهت إلى منطقة البطحاء وسط المدينة والتي زرتها مرات عديدة من السابق ونشرت عنها أكثر من مرة في المدونة، لا تستطيع الاكتفاء من التصوير هناك، وصلت هناك ليس في وقت مبكر جداً حتى أصل وأشاهد تواجد الناس والحياة مباشرة ولأنه يوم الجمعة معظم الشوارع في المدينة كانت شبه فارغة لذا كان الوصول هناك مريحاً، قد يتسائل البعض لما أعيد تكرار الزيارة لنفس المكان أكثر من مرة، الأمر بسيط أنا فقط ألاحق الأشياء الغير العادية في الأماكن العادية.

اليوم التالي توجهت في الصباح إلى سوق الزل والثميري، هذا السوق أيضاً قمت بزيارته عدة مرات، الأجواء هنا مختلفة تماماً عن يوم أمس (أقصد بها أجواء الحياة والناس) بما أن هذا السوق أحد الأسواق التراثية وأحد الأماكن السياحية في الرياض (ومن الصدف واجهت مجموعة سياحية هناك) السوق ليس كبيراً ولكنه مليء بالمشاهد التي تستحق التصوير والذي سيجعلك تدور حول المكان عدة مرات مثلما فعلت.

AlMubarakeya Market in Kuwait 2 – Street photography

Last June I had the chance to be in Kuwait for a calisthenics competition (by the way I’m an athlete in this sport) so in my free time I’ve visited AlMubarakeya market which is essential for anyone that visits Kuwait, didn’t take that much photos because I was with my wife but I’m happy for what I’ve got.

في شهر يونيو الماضي كانت لدي الفرصة في تواجدي في دولة الكويت لبطولة لعبة الكاليسثنكيس (على فكرة أنا رياضي في هذه اللعبة) لذلك في وقت فراغي قمت بزيارة سوق المباركية وهو من الأسواق الضرروية زيارتها أثناء التواجد في الكويت، لم ألتقط الكثير من الصور بسبب أنني كنت هناك مع زوجتي ولكنني راضي عن ما استطعت الحصول عليه.

Hello all, one more post for my Saudi Street Life project and I’ve got the chance to be in Jeddah to receive an award I’ve one it and published it all about it here, I went to Historical Jeddah because this place always needs to be photographed and documented from time to time, it was morning time so it wasn’t that crowded which was better for me, my focus was on the people passing by and the historical buildings there, didn’t try to come closer to any salesman (lately I stopped doing that) so here are the results.

مرحبا بالجميع، تدوينة اخرى جديدة لمشروع حياة الشارع السعودي وهذه المرة سنحت لي الفرصة بأن أكون في مدينة جدة لإستلام جائزة فزت بها ونشرت عنها هنا، ذهبت إلى مدينة جدة التاريخية لأن هذا المكان يحتاج إلى التصوير والتوثيق من وقت لأخر، كان الوقت صباحاً لذا لم يكن هناك أي ازدحام وهذا الشيء كان من صالحي، كان تركيزي على الناس العابرة في الأسواق والمكان والمباني التاريخية، لم أحاول الاقتراب من أي أحد من الباعة (مؤخراً أصبحت لا أقوم بذلك) وهذه بعض النتائج.

AlQaisariyah Market – Street Photography

Hello all, posting the last photowalk with my X100s and it was in the same area where my early photowalks with it 10 years ago you can visit it from here, AlQaisariyah Market in the heart of Hofuf city is a special place for and street & daily life photographer in AlHasa, it has lots of scenes & stories to document and it just happens that I’ve gone there to join a group photowalk (which isn’t my thing) but it wasn’t so bad, ended up taking lots of great scenes and also thanks to my friend got a few shots for me while photographing for change.

مرحبا بالجميع، الجولة الأخيرة لكاميرتي اكس ١٠٠ اس وكانت في نفس المكان التي كانت بدايات الجولات الفوتوغرافية للكاميرا قبل ١٠ سنوات تستطيع رؤية التدوينة من هنا، سوق القيصرية الذي يقع في وسط مدينة الهفوف له مكان خاص لدى مصوري حياة الشارع والحياة اليومية في الأحساء، هناك الكثير من المشاهد والقصص التي تستحق توثيقها وكانت لدي الفرصة للتواجد هناك والانضمام لجولة جماعية (وهو من الأشياء التي لا أفضلها) ولكن لم تكن جولة سيئة، استطعت الحصول على الكثير من النتائج الجيدة وأيضاً الشكر موصول لصديقي حصلت على غير المعتاد صور لنفسي وأنا أقوم بالتصوير من باب التغيير

Dammam Central Market 9 – Street photography

Hello all, continuing this series of capturing moments & places from the heart of Dammam, it was part of a street photography workshop (yup I did 3 of those last winter) it was just something to give back to the photography community and motivate others to do photograph more of the daily life, visiting the central market in Dammam was something I can not got bored easily with, although I was busy with the others in this workshop, I managed to get some really good shots.

مرحبا بالجميع، استكمالاً لهذه السلسلة لإلتقاط لحظات واماكن من قلب مدينة الدمام، كانت هذه الجولة من ضمن ورشة تصوير حياة الشارع (صحيح قمت بعمل ٣ ورشات في الشتاء الماضي) كان الأمر عبارة عن شيء ما أقدمه للمجتمع الفوتوغرافي ولكي أقوم بتحفيز المصورين لمجال الحياة اليومية، زيارة سوق وسط المدينة بالدمام يعتبر شيء لا أستطيع الملل منه بسهولة، على الرغم من انشغالي بالورشة مع الأخرين ولكنني تمكنت من إلتقاط بعض الصور الجيدة.

Hello all, new post for my Saudi Street Life Project and I’ve decided to go visit an old area I visited once or twice in Dammam and I have one of the early posts for the project from there (Day 8 – Dammam) this area is one of 2 oldest areas in Dammam but in the last 2 decades most of the original residence have moved on and only a few remaining with lots of foreign workers & families, so most of the results are images for the streets & buildings which some are old and still preserved their antique appearance.

مرحبا بالجميع، تدوينة جديدة لمشروع حياة الشارع السعودي وقررت منها الذهاب لزيارة أحد الأحياء القديمة التي قمت بزيارتها مرة أو مرتين بالدمام وتوجد أحد أوائل التدوينات للمشروع من نفس الحي (يوم ٨ – الدمام) حي العمامرة واحد من الأحياء القديمة بجانب حي الدواسر وفي العقدين الماضيين غادر معظم العوائل الأصلية الحي ولم يتبقى إلا القليل جداً بالإضافة إلى كثير من العمالة الأجنبية والعائلات الأجنبية، لذا معظم النتائج هي عبارة عن صور للأماكن والمباني وبعضها قديم ولا يزال محافظ على مظهره العتيق.

Day 110 Hafer AlBatin – The Old Market

Hello again, with the final city from my last trip for my Saudi Street Life project and this is a first time visit for me which Hafer AlBatin located in north of the Eastern Province, because I had so little time (less then a day) I only headed for the old market as they call it and walked around there for 2 hours along side the old area around it, most of the shop signs has just been re-designed to be united in an ugly way in my opinion but I photographed the place anyways, here are some of the results from that day.

مرحبا مرة اخرى مع اخر مدينة من رحلتي الأخيرة لمشروع حياة الشارع السعودي وهذه الزيارة الأولى لهذه المدينة وهي مدينة حفر الباطن وتقع في شمال المنطقة الشرقية، كان لدي القليل من الوقت (أقل من يوم) لذلك توجهت إلى السوق القديم كما يطلق عليه وتجولت هناك حوالي ساعتين مع الحي القديم بجواره، معظم لوحات المحلات تم اعادة تصميمها بشكل موحد وسيء برأيي الشخصي ولكنني قمت بالتصوير على كل حال، هذه بعض النتائج من ذلك اليوم.

Photowalk in Kazakhstan – Street Photography

Hello all, after shared in the previous post about going to Kazakhstan in a family trip this post is mostly about that one morning which was for a street photowalk plus some shots during the trip itself when I ever I saw some scene, not much more to say just to show you the photos itself, for me one photowalk in an entirely new city isn’t enough because my eye didn’t get used to the scenes there so I didn’t take that much photos.

مرحبا بالجميع، بعد مشاركتكم التدوينة السابقة عن رحلة العائلة إلى كازاخستان، هذه التدوينة عبارة عن أحد الصباحات التي استغليت فيها وقتي للخروج لتصوير حياة الشارع بالإضافة إلى بعض الصور التي إلتقطتها أثناء الرحلة كلما شاهدت مشهد ما، ليس هناك الكثير لقوله غير مشاركتكم الصور نفسها، بالنسبة لي جولة واحدة في مدينة جديدة تماماً غير كافية بسبب أن نظرتي لم تعتاد على المشاهد هناك لذلك لم ألتقط الكثير من الصور.

Day 109 Buraydah – AlJaradah Market

Hello all, today we take you back to Buraydah city in Qassim Region, which is a city I visited 3 years ago, because I had only one day for my visit I immediately headed for the central market also known as AlJardah market, and without any plans that day was Thursday so it was a bit crowded which was really good, I started photographing the people that are selling on the streets & there was a whole section which mostly had women selling different traditional home made goods, my highlight of this visit is seeing for the first time Locusta being sold which makes for some the people as delicious meal after it being cooked, I took break at noon then went back to the market to cover more area around it & photograph the scenes & people there.

مرحبا بالجميع، اليوم نعود مرة اخرى إلى مدينة بريدة بمنطقة القصيم وهي مدينة قمت بزيارتها قبل ٣ سنوات تقريباً، لأنه كان لدي يوم واحد فقط لهذه الزيارة توجهت مباشرة عند الوصول إلى وسط المدينة وتحديداً سوق يسمى سوق الجَرَدَة وبدون أي مخطط مسبق كان ذاك اليوم يصادف يوم الخميس وهو من الأيام الذي يكتظ به السوق من الباعة والناس وكان هذا من حسن حظي، بدأت بتصوير الناس والباعة على الشوارع وكان هناك قسم يغلبه في حضوره الباعة النساء ويقومون ببيع الكثير من المنتجات الشعبية المصنعة محلياً، ولكن أكثر ما كان ملفت لي في هذه الزيارة هو رؤية بيع الجراد لأول مرة والذي يمثل وجبة لذيذة لدى أهالي المنطقة بعد طبخها، مع وقت الظهيرة استغللت الوقت للراحة وقررت العودة مرة اخرى لما حول السوق لتصوير المشاهد والمحلات والناس.

AlBatha Area in Riyadh 3 – Street photography

Hello all, another visit to AlBatha area in the capital city Riyadh, I already mentioned in a previous blog post that this area has endless scenes and it can be visited many times through out the year, that’s why if I’m in Riyadh I like to go for a walk there to even though I’ve already visited the area many times, so this time again I visited the area in the morning time close to the afternoon time, the sun light was very harsh but it served well with the narrow alleys through the tall buildings so here are the results.

مرحبا بالجميع، زيارة اخرى لمنطقة البطحاء في العاصمة الرياض، ذكرت في تدوينة سابقة أن هذه المنطقة مليئة بالمشاهد الكثيرة ويمكن زيارتها عدة مرات على مدار السنة، لذلك في كل مرة أزور الرياض أحاول بقدر الإمكان القيام بجولة هناك على الرغم من زياراتي العديدة لها، هذه المرة كذلك قمت بزيارتها في الصباح المتأخر وكانت الشمس اضاءتها عالية ولكنها خدمت بشكل ممتاز الممرات الضيقة في المباني الطويلة بالمنطقة وهذه النتائج.
