Day 44 – Unaizah Part 4

Before you visit this post, if you please visit Unaizah Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3. In this post I was having a free time before noon and it was cloudy so it was a good chance to photograph an area, after driving around in Unaizah I’ve reach this neighborhood which was a quite one at that time.

قبل زيارة هذه التدوينة، الرجاء زيارة تدوينة عنيزة الجزء الأول، الجزء الثاني والجزء الثالث. في هذه التدوينة كان لدي وقت فراغ قبل الظهر وكان الجو غائماً بالسحب لذلك كانت فرصة لتصوير أحد الأحياء، تجولت بسيارتي في أنحاء عنيزة حتى وصلت لهذا الحي الذي كان هادئاً في ذلك الوقت.

Day 44 – Unaizah Part 3

Back with some more interesting photos to show you all, this is Part 3 which was from an old neighborhood in Unaizah, Qassim. If you haven’t seen Part 1 & Part 2 from Unaizah please do! In this part I’ve visited an old neighborhood with lots of activities, alleys & old houses, I’ve met some interesting kids there, it was evening so I only had about 2 hours before sunset. I hope you enjoy the stories from here!

عودة مرة اخرى مع مجموعة جديدة من الصور لمشاركتها معكم، هذا هو الجزء الثالث والذي كان من أحد الأحياء القديمة في مدينة عنيزة بمنطقة القصيم. إذا لم تشاهدوا الجزء الأول والجزء الثاني من عنيزة زورها من هنا. في هذا الجزء زرت أحد الأحياء القديمة والتي كانت بها العديد من القصص، والأزقة والبيوت القديمة، كان الوقت مساءاً لذلك لم يكن لدي إلا ساعتين تقريباً قبل مغيب الشمس، أتمنى أتعجبكم هذه القصص!

Day 44 – Unaizah Part 2

Back again, I’m trying to edit and publish the photos I have at the moment. If you haven’t seen Part 1 of Unaizah please do, this was a quick walk in the central vegetable market in Unaizah what I noticed that most of the sellers are Saudis which is really a good thing, it was very cold morning as I remember. Hope you enjoy it!

Day 44 – Unaizah Part 1

After finishing Buraydah’s posts I’ll begin with another city from Qassim Region which is Unaizah city, in my 6 days in Qassim I stayed in this city so naturally I shot more from it, so you could expect 4 or 5 parts from Day 44. In this post I’ve visited a famous heritage market which was rebuilt and kept in good conditions by the local people, it has many old stuff to sell and as for show, plus some really nice rooms which mimics the feeling from the old & traditional houses and there were some craftsman but sadly in that day there were only one working there.

بعد الانتهاء من تدوينات بريدة سأبدأ معكم بمدينة اخرى من منطقة القصيم وهي مدينة عنيزة، خلال ٦ الأيام التي أمضيت بها بالقصيم كنت قد اتخذت من هذه المدينة مقر لسكني ولذلك من الطبيعي أن يكون أغلب تصويري منها لذلك تستطيعون توقع ٤ أو ٥ تدوينات من يوم ٤٤. في هذه التدوينة قمت بزيارة سوق شعبي مشهور وهو سوق المسوكف والذي تم تجديده والاهتمام به من قبل السكان المحليين، يحتوي السوق على العديد من المحلات والمتاحف الصغيرة لبيع وعرض الاشياء القديمة والتراثية بالإضافة إلى وجود جلسات شعبية جميلة تذكرك بالماضي ولا ننسى بعض الحرفيين الذي يمارسون حرفتهم، للأسف في ذلك اليوم لم يكن هناك إلا حرفي واحد يعمل.

Day 43 – Buraydah Part 3

Back with the last part of Buraydah city in Qassim Region, in this photowalk I managed to arrive at an area called AlOjaibah area beside one of the markets which was full of stories, because it was morning there wasn’t many activities inside the alleys, but in the market near it there plenty enough I walked there for more then 2 hours exploring the area and capturing stories. I hope you enjoy this one too!

عودة مع الجزء الأخير من مدينة بريدة بمنطقة القصيم، في هذه الجولة وصلت إلى أحد الأحياء الكبيرة بجانب أحد الأسواق يسمى حي العجيبة والذي كان مليئاً بالقصص المختلفة وبسبب أن الفترة كانت بالصباح كان هناك نشاطاً قليلاً داخل الحي بعكس السوق الملاصق له، تجولت هناك لأكثر من ساعتين ألتقط تلك اللحظات والقصص، أتمنى أن تعجبكم هذه الجولة!

Day 43 – Buraydah Part 2

In another morning I returned to Buraydah, Qassim to one of the markets down town. Sadly the market is being redecorated and a lot of work there, then I found a space area for Craftsmen and luckily I found 2 old men working there & a collector who has a large collection in his shop, some for display and other are not for sale. So in this post I’ll be displaying stories more then the usual. If you didn’t see Part 1 from Buraydah please do!

في صباح اخر توجهت أيضاً إلى بريدة في منطقة القصيم لزيارة احد الأسواق في وسط المدينة، للأسف كان السوق المقصود يعاد ترميمه بالكامل لذا لم يكن بالمكان المثالي للتصوير، بعد تجولي وجدت بالقرب منه سوق الحرفيين الذي قامت البلدية ببناءه وتوفيره للحرفيين الموجودين بالمنطقة، لحسن الحظ وجدت اثنين من كبار السن وهم يمارسون حرفتهم. لذا في هذه التدوينة سأقوم بعرض قصص أكثر من العادة وأكثر من صور التي تمثل حياة الشارع. إذا لم تشاهد الجزء الأول من مدينة بريدة اضغط هنا !

For the 2nd year: 12 Hours on the streets of Dammam

In Saturday 19th of March 2016 for the 2nd year in the 24 hour project event which is a street photography project started 5 years ago, I participated with this event for 12 hours straight in Dammam, Saudi Arabia! If you haven’t seen my 2015 12 Hours on the Street of Dammam please do. It was another great experience for my photographic skill to put on the test, I always wanted to do a long walk and random street shooting, this is the life I love to be in, so again I used my fujifilm X100s & this time I depended on the JPG format that the camera produce so I sometime switch it to b/w mode to color mode with sitting already saved in the camera, it really helped me get a lot of great photos in great shape without any processing. This time I took a lot of photo comparing to last year so it was tough to narrow it down,  since I ended up with 70+ photos ( I know it’s too much ). I decided to show you half of it. Enjoy!

في يوم السبت ١٩ مارس ٢٠١٦ للسنة الثانية على التوالي لمشروع تصوير ٢٤ ساعة وهو حدث عالمي يهتم بتصوير حياة الشارع وتوثيقها، بدأ هذا المشروع قبل ٥ سنوات ولقد شاركت هذه السنة لمدة ١٢ ساعة متواصلة في شوارع الدمام بالسعودية! اذا لم تشاهدوا نتائج نسخة السنة الماضية من تدوينتي شاهدوها الان. لقد كانت تجربة رائعة لاختبار مهاراتي التصويرية في حياة الشارع، لقد رغبت منذ فترة طويلة المشي والتصوير بشكل عشوائي من حياة الشارع، تلك هي الحياة التي أحبها حقيقة، استخدمت كاميرتي الفوجي اكس ١٠٠ اس واعتمدت هذه المرة على صور جاي بي جي بدل من صور الراو وكنت أحول الاعدادات بين الملونة والاحادية في اعدادات مسبقة ومحفوظة، ساعدني كثيراً هذا الشيء في الحصول على صور ليست بحاجة إلى معالجة بتاتاً. كانت نتائجي كثيرة هذه المرة وبعضها دسم مقارنة بالسنة الماضية، بعد الفرز حصلت على اكثر من ٧٠ صورة وهو عدد كبير! لذلك قررت بمشاركتكم نصف هذا العدد، اتمنى ان تستمتعوا بها!

Finally back to continue publishing through my Saudi Street Project. Last month I went to Al-Qassim Region where I visited a couple of cities there, in this one I’ll start showing you Buraydah city which is the main city in Al-Qassim, I went to a popular market called AlJaradah, I spent my entire morning there and the surrounding area, it was worth it despise some said it’s not a place where people agree with photography but I did anyways

عدت لإكمال نشر مشروع حياة الشارع السعودي من خلال هذه المدونة. الشهر الماضي قمت بالذهاب في رحلة إلى منطقة القصيم وقمت بزيارة عدة مدن بها، في هذه التدوينة سأبدأ مع مدينة بريدة وهي المدينة الرئيسية في القصيم، ذهبت إلى أحد الأسواق ويدعى سوق الجردة وأمضيت صباحي هناك متجولاً في السوق وما حوله ولقد كان الأمر يستحق على الرغم من أن البعض قال لي بأن هناك من لن يرغب بالتصوير ولكن ذهبت على أي حال

Qatif streets part 2 – film photography

Continuing the series of b/w film photos and to bring you back another part from Qatif, Saudi Arabia. This area is the first time I walk through it so it was a good experience to shoot film in an unknown area, not knowing what might I get from there. I got to say the manual focus is a challenge in an analog camera but it’s also fun to use!

نكمل سلسلة الصور الفلمية الاحادية وهذه المرة عودة مع شوارع من القطيف بالمنطقة الشرقية. هذا الحي هو مكان جديد بالنسبة لي كجولة تصوير فكانت تجربة جيدة أن أقوم بتصوير فلمي في مكان غير معروف لدي. لابد أن أقول أن تجربة التركيز اليدوي في الكاميرات القديمة هي بمثابة التحدي ولكنها لا تخلو من المتعة!

Saihat streets – film photography

Another Series of b/w film photos from a town called Saihat which is part of the Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. I’ve already documented the lives in these alleys but I still want to try the old school method with an analog camera, these photos are results from using 2 rolls of film. Hope you enjoy it!

سلسلة صور فلمية احادية اخرى من بلدة سيهات في المنطقة الشرقية. لقد قمت بتوثيق الحي سابقاً ولكن أردت التجول بالمكان مرة اخرى بواسطة كاميرا قديمة فلمية والاستمتاع بالتصوير، هذه الصورة نتائج من استخدام فلمين. أتمنى ان تعجبكم!
