Hello and back again after more then month away from this blog. I’ll begin with this one sharing the latest photos from my last trip to the north of Saudi Arabia. The first city which I went in the north is Arar, Northern Borders Region. Arar city is not a tourism city at all and because of that the city usually don’t get any outside visitors and it doesn’t have a thing that represent the city culture, in fact it’s a city founded about 70 years ago or so because of the oil pipeline for Aramco. So after taking a quick tour around the city I found myself in the center market of the city and the surrounded area so it was a start for me here. Enough talking and here are some of the photos!

مرحبا بكم وعودة مجددة بعد غياب أكثر من شهر عن المدونة، سأبدأ بمشاركتكم صوري الاخيرة من رحلتي الاخيرة إلى شمال المملكة العربية السعودية. أول مدينة وصلت إليها كانت مدينة عرعر تابعة لمنطقة الحدود الشمالية. مدينة عرعر ليست مدينة سياحية بتاتاً ولهذا السبب جرت العادة أن لا يأتيها زوار من خارج المدينة وبالإضافة إلى ذلك فهي لا تملك هوية خاصة بثقافة المدينة وأهلها بالحقيقة المدينة تم تأسيسها قبل قرابة ٧٠ عاماً فقط بسبب وجود محطة ضخ النفط التابعة لشركة أرامكو. بعد أخذ جولة سريعة على المدينة وجدت نفسي في سوق وسط البلد فكان هذا المكان والحي المجاور له مكاناً جيداً للتصوير. وهذه هي بعض الصور التي إلتقطتها من هناك

I started off from the market which was on one street only, it was boring so I made my way to the area around directly

بدأت من السوق والذي كان فقط عبارة عن شارع واحد وكان الامر مملاً بالنسبة لي بدأت بالذهاب إلى داخل الحي مباشرة

So what I noticed a lot in Arar is the wall writings, a LOT of wall writings! In some places the amount is just unreal and what you see now is only some of the ones that you can read off it

ما لاحظته من مدينة عرعر هو كثرة الكتابات الجدران بشكل كبير جداً وفي بعض الأحياء غير هذا الحي الكمية مهولة لدرجة أنك لا ترى الجدار نفسه، هذه فقط عينة من الكتابات الخفيفة التي يمكن قراءة شيء منها

أطفال يستريحون بعد أن لعبوا كرة القدم بالشارع، المرمى هو نفسه المرسوم على الجدار

The houses normally have 2 entrance, one are the main entrance and the other are only for family or woman which is in this case on the left, and it’s always known here to have and extra layer to cover the door for more privacy

المنازل لديها بالعادة مدخلين، احدهما المدخل الرئيسي والثاني هو المدخل المخصص للعائلة أو للنساء وفي هذه الحالة المدخل الموجود باليسار، ومن المتعارف عليه هنا أن يحتوي المدخل على حاجز يحجب الباب نفسه للحصول على خصوصية أكبر

I met these nice people while walking around, had a really good chat with them and they insisted to invite me in to have Arabic coffee and to see the collection of the Coffee Jug ( Dallah ) which normally something to be proud to have and show inside the houses in North of Saudi Arabia

قابلت هؤلاء الرجال الطيبون عندما كنت في جولتي في الحي، خضت معهم نقاش جميل وأصّروا أن أقبل دعوتهم لشرب القهوة العربية بداخل المنزل ولرؤية مجموعة الدلال الموجودة والتي عادة يفخر بها من يمتلكها ويضعها داخل المجلس على الأرفف وهي عادة موجودة لدى أهل الشمال ككل

It wasn’t the door or the building that caught my eyes, the window the shape that covers it is very funny !!

Playing football in the middle of the street, when a car comes they simply stand a side and return again!

لعب كرة القدم في منتصف الشارع، عندما تقترب سيارة ما يبتعدون عن الطريق ببساطة وثم يعودون مجدداً!

They once were the most valuable thing for that someone! But I’ve got to say “Old is Gold”
