Pulse – Wireless control for the camera

Just received this awesome gadget, PULSE which a small device can be connected to the camera so you got wireless control over the camera for a great options! Such as taking a photo, time-lapse, Multi exposure, long exposure and a great feature called photo booth! And of course you can control the aperture, shutter speed and the ISO, but it can’t do live view or transfer photos, nether the less it’s acceptable for it’s price, also what I like about it’s really small & light, and the battery can last 24 hours ( as for the manual ). I bought this through a Kickstarter project a year ago.

وصل للتو هذا الجهاز الصغير الرائع تحت اسم ( بولس ) وهو جهاز يتم توصيله مع الكاميرا الاحترافية حتى تحصل على تحكم لاسلكي للكاميرا لخصائص معينة وهي، تصوير عن بعد لصورة، تايم لابز، صور متعددة التعريضات، تعريض طويل، وخاصية التصوير الذاتي المتعدد ( فوتو بوث ) وبالطبع تستطيع التحكم كاملاً بالغالق وفتحة العدسة والايزو، ولكن لا يمكنك رؤية مشاهدة مباشرة أو نقل الصور وهذا مقبول جداً لسعرها، وأكثر ما يعجبني أن الجهاز صغير وخفيف جداً والبطارية تصل إلى ٢٤ ساعة ( حسب كتيب التعليمات ). قمت بشرائها قبل سنة من ضمن مشاريع كيكستارتر.

Day 47 – Tabuk Part 1

Hello all and I’m back again with the 3rd city which was in my last trip to the north of Saudi Arabia for my Street Project, this one is Tabuk city, Tabuk Region. It’s located in the north west of the country, when I first arrived I drove around the city which was quiet small and you can get used to it fast, so anyway I was looking for area which was good for my project and luckily I found a few, so I went back to the hotel and rested for an hour then I went straight to that area, it was kinda old but not with random streets, most of the residence were foreign people, it was so large a 2 hour walk wasn’t enough. Anyway here are some of the photos I’ve captured there.

مرحبا مجدداً وعودة مرة اخرى مع المدينة الثالثة التي كانت ضمن رحلتي الأخيرة لشمال السعودية لمشروع حياة الشارع، وهذه المدينة هي تبوك من منطقة تبوك، تقع في الشمال الغربي من المملكة. عندما وصلت هناك بدأت بالقيادة حول المدينة والتي يبدو أن بعد وقت قصير بالإمكان أن تتعود عليها سريعاً لذلك بدأت بالبحث عن أحياء تخدمني في التصوير من اجل المشروع ولحسن الحظ كان هناك عدة أحياء جيدة، عدت للفندق لبعض الراحة ومن ثم إنطلقت لأحد الأحياء والذي كان قديماً بعض الشيء ولكن لم يكن عشوائياُ بالتخطيط، معظم سكانه كانوا من الأجانب وكان الحي ضخماً لدرجة أن ساعتين من المشي لم تكن تكفي أبداً. على أي حال هذي هي بعض الصور التي قمت بتصويرها هناك.

Day 45 – Arar Part 1

Hello and back again after more then month away from this blog. I’ll begin with this one sharing the latest photos from my last trip to the north of Saudi Arabia. The first city which I went in the north is Arar, Northern Borders Region. Arar city is not a tourism city at all and because of that the city usually don’t get any outside visitors and it doesn’t have a thing that represent the city culture, in fact it’s a city founded about 70 years ago or so because of the oil pipeline for Aramco. So after taking a quick tour around the city I found myself in the center market of the city and the surrounded area so it was a start for me here. Enough talking and here are some of the photos!

مرحبا بكم وعودة مجددة بعد غياب أكثر من شهر عن المدونة، سأبدأ بمشاركتكم صوري الاخيرة من رحلتي الاخيرة إلى شمال المملكة العربية السعودية. أول مدينة وصلت إليها كانت مدينة عرعر تابعة لمنطقة الحدود الشمالية. مدينة عرعر ليست مدينة سياحية بتاتاً ولهذا السبب جرت العادة أن لا يأتيها زوار من خارج المدينة وبالإضافة إلى ذلك فهي لا تملك هوية خاصة بثقافة المدينة وأهلها بالحقيقة المدينة تم تأسيسها قبل قرابة ٧٠ عاماً فقط بسبب وجود محطة ضخ النفط التابعة لشركة أرامكو. بعد أخذ جولة سريعة على المدينة وجدت نفسي في سوق وسط البلد فكان هذا المكان والحي المجاور له مكاناً جيداً للتصوير. وهذه هي بعض الصور التي إلتقطتها من هناك

Layla through the iPhone – Album

اليوم وصلني ألبوم صور لصور ليول ( ليلى ) وجميع الصور من تصوير الأيفون وهي تجربة لحساب ألبومي من دولة الكويت، ألبومي لديهم تطبيق جميل وخفيف تقوم من خلاله من اختيار حجم من ٣ أحجام متوفرة ( انا اخترت أكبر حجم ) وبعدها يعطيك الخيار باضافة ٢٠ سواء تقوم بترتيبها أو تخليه يضعها بشكل عشوائي مع كتابة عنوان للألبوم.. طبعاً أنا تعمدت اختيار صور الايفون لأن عندي كمية كبيرة من صور ليلى من سنتين ونصف وجاهزة في مكتبة فسكو لأني أبغى أشوف تجربة حقيقة لصور مطبوعة من الأيفون! وفعلياً الدقة جداً رائعة وفوق ما تخيلت لبعض الصور الي كانت ظروف الاضاءة سيئة، وفي نفس الوقت اختبار طباعة هذي الشركة والي واضح انهم راقيين جداً في التعامل مع الصور.. الموضوع كله تم من التطبيق ووصلني بعد ٤ أيام من الطلب عن طريق ارامكس

المميزات: خامة ورقية ممتازة وطباعة وألوان مذهلتين، تستطيع اضافة أكثر من صور بتنسيق معين في الصفحة الواحدة، تستطيع زيادة عدد الورقات مع اضافة مبلغ اضافي لكل ورقة.. العيوب: ما قدرت أحط صور عرضية أو طولية بدون ما يعبي الصفحة ( يعني لازم مربعة )ـ

This is a photo album a test print from my iPhone5s photos for my daughter Layla through the past 2 & half years, Albumi is company from Kuwait which has an app you can create an album through it by choosing from 3 different sizes ( I picked the big size ) then you can add up to 20 photos to arrange. This is my first time to print anything from an iPhone and the details in the prints are amazing in some of the low light ones! I liked them, I received mine after 4 days from ordering

Pros: Excellent photo paper & great handling with the colors, you can add more then a photo in the same page, you add more papers with extra money
Cons: Couldn’t adjust the photo to be only portrait or landscape

For the 2nd year: 12 Hours on the streets of Dammam

In Saturday 19th of March 2016 for the 2nd year in the 24 hour project event which is a street photography project started 5 years ago, I participated with this event for 12 hours straight in Dammam, Saudi Arabia! If you haven’t seen my 2015 12 Hours on the Street of Dammam please do. It was another great experience for my photographic skill to put on the test, I always wanted to do a long walk and random street shooting, this is the life I love to be in, so again I used my fujifilm X100s & this time I depended on the JPG format that the camera produce so I sometime switch it to b/w mode to color mode with sitting already saved in the camera, it really helped me get a lot of great photos in great shape without any processing. This time I took a lot of photo comparing to last year so it was tough to narrow it down,  since I ended up with 70+ photos ( I know it’s too much ). I decided to show you half of it. Enjoy!

في يوم السبت ١٩ مارس ٢٠١٦ للسنة الثانية على التوالي لمشروع تصوير ٢٤ ساعة وهو حدث عالمي يهتم بتصوير حياة الشارع وتوثيقها، بدأ هذا المشروع قبل ٥ سنوات ولقد شاركت هذه السنة لمدة ١٢ ساعة متواصلة في شوارع الدمام بالسعودية! اذا لم تشاهدوا نتائج نسخة السنة الماضية من تدوينتي شاهدوها الان. لقد كانت تجربة رائعة لاختبار مهاراتي التصويرية في حياة الشارع، لقد رغبت منذ فترة طويلة المشي والتصوير بشكل عشوائي من حياة الشارع، تلك هي الحياة التي أحبها حقيقة، استخدمت كاميرتي الفوجي اكس ١٠٠ اس واعتمدت هذه المرة على صور جاي بي جي بدل من صور الراو وكنت أحول الاعدادات بين الملونة والاحادية في اعدادات مسبقة ومحفوظة، ساعدني كثيراً هذا الشيء في الحصول على صور ليست بحاجة إلى معالجة بتاتاً. كانت نتائجي كثيرة هذه المرة وبعضها دسم مقارنة بالسنة الماضية، بعد الفرز حصلت على اكثر من ٧٠ صورة وهو عدد كبير! لذلك قررت بمشاركتكم نصف هذا العدد، اتمنى ان تستمتعوا بها!

My 2 new lenses from Sigma

Finally after a whole year from moving to full frame DSLR, I got 2 lenses which I really need to complete my gear!

The monster Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM, this will be my portrait/ headshot on the streets all the time! It rivals up with the well known the Canon 85mm f/1.2 II USM, the difference is the price is in half!

The amazing and sharp Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens, I wasn’t really sure about wither I want the 35mm lens or the 24mm lens, but I already have a 50mm lens so my decision goes to the 24mm, I will most need it in tight and small places if I have a project or an assignment to shoot, street photography? Highly unlikely that I’ll use this one, it’s just too wide for me.

Results from attending an Editorial Portrait Course with David Hobby

On Feb 7th 2016 I attended my first photography course from the well known group called Gulf Photo Plus which they held each year different kinds of photography courses bringing famous photographer from all over the world. I attended one with the amazing photographer & the strobist David Hobby who held a course titled: Art On A Deadline: The Editorial Portrait, I learned a lot from this course and finally understood the meaning of “Editorial”. We did 3 training assignment in 2 days and I’d like to show you the best of I’ve gotten from each assignment. And I would like to thank Qomra Store for giving this opportunity to me and my friend as it was an Instagram prize contest who gave us free seats at this course!

في السابع من فبراير ٢٠١٦ حضرت أول دورة فوتوغرافية من المجموعة المعروفة والتي تسمى ب قولف فوتو بلس وهي مجموعة تقوم سنوياً بإقامة دورات فوتوغرافية من مختلف الفئات والتي يقودها مجموعة من الفوتوغرافيين المشهورين عالمياً. حضرت دورة بقيادة المصور الرائع ديفيد هوبي والذي أقام دورة فوتوغرافية تهتم بتصوير البورترية في فئة مخصصة لإبراز الشخصية. في الدورة قمنا بعمل ٣ مهام تدريبية على مدار يومين سأقوم بعرض بعض النتائج من هذه المهام. وأود انتهز الفرصة أيضاً لأشكر محل قمرة للتصوير على اتاحة هذه الفرصة لي ولصديقي والتي كانت عبارة عن جائزة من مسابقة في الانستقرام وحصلنا بها على مقاعد مجانية لهذه الدورة!

AlHasa Martyrs Funeral – تشييع شهداء الأحساء

On Friday January 30th 2016 three terrorist attacked Imam Redha Mosque in AlJuma’a Prayer time in Mubarraz, AlHasa. A big funeral for the 4 martyrs was held Monday February 1st 2016 in AlHasa attended by 10 of thousands of people who came from all over the Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia.

في يوم الجمعة ٣٠ من يناير ٢٠١٦ قام ثلاثة ارهابيين بمهاجمة مسجد الامام رضا في وقت صلاة الجمعة في مدينة المبرز بالأحساء. تم اقامة تشييع كبير للشهداء الاربعة يوم الاثنين الأول من فبراير ٢٠١٦ والذي انضم إلى التشييع عشرات الآلاف من جميع أنحاء المنطقة الشرقية في السعودية.
