Hello all, for a change I’m sharing a family trip instead the usual trips or usual photowalks that I share in my blog, like always writing my personal experience with many photos & some video clips, hope you will enjoy it it will be a long post.

مرحبا بالجميع، من باب التغيير سأشارككم رحلة عائلية بدلاً عن الرحلات أو الجولات الفوتوغرافية المعتادة التي أنشرها في المدونة، كالمعتاد سأكتب تجربتي الشخصية مع العديد من الصور وبعض مقاطع الفيديو، وأتمنى أن تنال إعجابكم ستكون تدوينة طويلة

First Family trip to a far country in 5 years and we chose Kazakhstan and to be exact we chose Almaty city, we plan almost everything in a matter of 2 weeks, some reasons that we chose Kazakhstan is because it’s mostly not being visited frequently by people from our country plus it doesn’t need a visa and lastly we were lucky that the month of May is one of the months that being recommended to visit Almaty, I managed to contact a local tourism company were they set up everything we need including a guide because of the language difficulty, the locals mostly talks Kazakh & Russian but only little speaks English & rarely Arabic, when we arrived at Friday dawn I was surprised with a big misunderstanding from the hotel reservation which didn’t suit us so I had to cancel it with the company and do my own reservation via Bookings and managed to get a good apartment in a very good spot filled with restaurants, cafes and supermarkets.

سفرة عائلية بعد مضي ٥ سنوات على آخر سفرة وكانت الوجهة هي دولة كازاخستان وتحديداً مدينة ألماتي وكانت بتخطيط مفاجئ إلى حدٍ ما وفي غضون أسبوعين فقط، أولاً وقع الاختيار على كازاخستان لأسباب منها أنها دولة غير مستهلكة في السفر من قبل الناس بمجتمعنا بالإضافة إلى عدم حاجتها للتأشيرة وأخيراً شهر مايو هو أحد الأشهر المناسبة للسفر لهذه المدينة، تواصلت مع أحد المكاتب المحلية وتم الحجز المطلوب وكان من المهم وجود مرشد سياحي من أجل اللغة بسبب أنهم يستخدمون اللغة الكازخية والروسية بالغالب وقليلاً الانجليزية ونادراً العربية، أثناء وصولنا في فجر يوم الجمعة تفاجئت بوجود سوء فهم في حجز فندق وبعد تعب الرحلة في الصباح قررت إلغاء الحجز الذي تم من قبل المكتب وغامرت بالبحث عن شقة مناسبة حتى وصلت لشقة غرفة وصالة وكانت تناسب حجم عائلتي بالإضافة إلى كونها أرخص من الفندق وأوسع وفي مكان مليء بالمقاهي وبعض المطاعم والمحلات الغذائية

2nd day was mostly good we visited Koke Tobe then headed for Marasan Vally & Bear mountain which was not suitable for children, on the 3rd day we got hit by a whole day of light rain & a sudden temperature drops to 6 degree which made any outdoor activity tough so it took most of the day but we managed to visit Arabat street before the end of the day and returning to the apartment for resting.

اليوم الثاني كان جيداً قمنا بزيارة كوك توبي ومن ثم توجهنا لوادي ماراسان وجبل الدب والتي لم تكن مناسبة أبداً للأطفال وباليوم الثالث داهمنا الجو بـ رشات أمطار استمرت أكثر من حوالي يوم كامل (ولم تكن هناك شوارع غرقانة) والتي قضت على أكثر من نصف يومنا ولكن تمكننا في نهايته من زيارة شارع أربات وقضاء ساعتين هناك قبل العودة للشقة وانهاء ذلك اليوم بسلام.

the 4th day we headed to one of the mountain resorts outside the city which is about 50 min drive and it’s called Oi-Qaragai Lesnaya Skazka resort which had lots of entertainment activities using the mountain & the trees for both adults & children including the zip-line for adults on a high altitude (which is not worth it personally) cause you need about 30-40 min from the receptionist to the start point to get there only to enjoy a few seconds & then about 10 min walking down the mountain (which is somehow nice).

اليوم الرابع توجهنا إلى أحد المنتجعات الجبلية خارج المدينة على بعد ٥٠ دقيقة بالسيارة ويسمى منتجع ليسانيا سكازكا (الاسم حوسة) ويحتوي على العديد من النشاطات الترفيهية بين الجبال والأشجار للكبار والصغار ومنها الزبلاين على ارتفاع شاهق (وشخصياً لا يستحق العناء) تحتاج تقريباً قرابة ٣٠ إلى ٤٠ دقيقة من شباك التذاكر إلى الوصول لنقطة الانطلاق للاستمتاع بثواني قليلة ومن ثم قرابة ١٠ دقيقة نزولاً من الجبل بين الاشجار (وهو شيء جميل إلى حد ما)

After that we returned to the city to visit the largest zoo in Almaty located in Central Park, it has a many species of animals and it was really cool seeing the armored animal the rhino for the first time, also seeing the giraffe, the elephant again up close was really nice, we walked there for 2 hours before ending our day.

بعد ذلك عدنا للمدينة مباشرة إلى حديقة الحيوانات الأكبر وتقع في حديقة مركز المدينة وكانت متنوعة جداً ورأيت بعض الحيوانات للمرة الأولى عن قرب مثل مدرعة المحميات وحيد القرن وأيضاً رؤية الزرافة والفيل عن قرب مرة اخرى لها هيبة اخرى وتأمل في خلق الله، تجولنا هناك لمدة ساعتين لننهي جولات هذا اليوم.

In the 5th day we headed also outside to city for Shymbulak Mountain which a 40 min drive to a point where no normal cars can enter, only electric cars are allowed so we took a taxi from that point and after 10 min arrived at the intended point where there was the mountain filled with green grass & many spots of snow that didn’t melt away (because of the rains 2 days ago, it snowed in the mountain which is rare) so the scenes there were stunning, I can’t hide the fact that bringing along a baby cart was a challenge but it was worth it, we spend there about 2 hours drinking Saudi Coffee & enjoying the scenes, while Manar enjoyed a well deserved nap in her cart.

وفي اليوم الخامس توجهنا كذلك إلى خارج المدينة إلى جبل شمبلاق والذي يبعد قرابة ٤٠ دقيقة بالسيارة وبسبب أنظمة الحكومة فإنه يمنع دخول السيارات التي تستخدم الوقود إلى محيط الجبل ويتعين اخذ تاكسي سيارة كهربائية إلى نقطة المقاهي والمطاعم في الجبل والذي يستغرق قرابة ١٠ دقائق صعوداً وبسبب تساقط الأمطار قبل يومين تساقطت الثلوج على الجبال وهذا شيء قليل الحدوث فكان المشهد هناك خلاباً جداً مع الجبال الخضراء والتي تغطي بعض بقعها الثلوج التي لازالت متماسكة، لا أخفيكم صعوبة صعود الجبل مع عربة الأطفال ولكنها تجربة كانت تستحق كل ذرة جهد، استمتعنا بالجلوس هناك قرابة ساعتين مع شرب القهوة السعودية واستحقاق منار لقيلولة فوق الجبل داخل العربة

After that we went back to city we visited Fantasy world a bit late but everyone (almost) enjoyed their time there, sadly almost didn’t photograph the place there.

عودة إلى المدينة وتوجهنا إلى مدينة ألعاب تسمى فانتسي ورلد وعلى الرغم من وصولنا المتأخر إلا أن الجميع نال حصته من المتعة هناك، تقريباً الجميع. للأسف لم أقم بالتصوير هناك كثيراً.

In the 6th & last day we headed to downtown to visit the public traditional market, it has lots of vendors on the side walk plus lots of shops the sells mostly clothes & food, it was quick walk so I didn’t get the chance to take lots of photograph their & I couldn’t let my family wait for me that long.

اليوم السادس والأخير قمنا بالتوجه لوسط المدينة لزيارة السوق الشعبي، كان عبارة عن باعة على أرصفة بالإضافة إلى محلات صغيرة ومتعددة يغلبها الملابس وبعض التحف وألعاب الأطفال بالإضافة إلى المنتجات الغذائية واللحوم، كانت جولة سريعة هناك لذلك لم ألتقط العديد من الصور هناك ولأنني لا أستطيع ترك العائلة تنتظرني لجولة تصوير كاملة هناك، فالتصوير مثل القهوة لا يمكنك استعجاله.

That was our last spot to visit to end or trip before our flight which was after midnight in that day, all I can say about my experience in this country is that first of all the people here are very organized and super polite despite the difficulty of the language, sadly I didn’t had the chance to try any Kazakh food for several reasons but then I again I wasn’t interesting into trying out the food, I was just interesting to eat well & enough since I’m an athlete, the expanse there is between cheap & average but hotels are definitely not cheap, the weather in that week was cold in the morning & night and a bit hot under the sun light, in fact April & May are one of the best months to visit Almaty, plus I’ve told that it gets really crowded here in winter for the snow & the ski in the mountains, lastly I can say that this is the first family trip that I will gladly can get back again to this city I think mostly because of it’s people.

وكان ذلك اخر يوم للتجول والسياحة في هذه المدينة قبل رحلتنا التي كانت بعد منتصف الليل، كل ما أستطيع القول عن تجربتي لهذه الدولة بأن الناس هناك منظمين جداً، لطيفين في التعامل على الرغم من عائق اللغة، لم تسنح لي الفرصة لتجربة المطاعم الكازاخية لعدة أسباب ولم أكن مهتماً في المأكولات غير أن أجد شيء أكله بحكم أنني رياضي، المصاريف هناك ما بين الرخيص والمتوسط ولكن السكن بكل تأكيد ليس كذلك، أجواء ذلك الأسبوع كانت ما بين البارد في الليل والصباح والحار تحت أشعة الشمس وشهر ابريل ومايو من الشهور الي ينصح فيها للسفر للمدينة وحسب ما قيل لي بأن السياحة تبلغ ذروتها في الشتاء بسبب زيارة الأغلب للثلوج والتزلج في الجبال، وأخيراً أستطيع القول بأن هذه أول سفرة لدولة مع العائلة والتي لا أمانع العودة لها مجدداً غالباً السبب يعود لسكانها.
