I met this old man at the door of his house, he was smoking and just sitting there like the usual, I really wanted to remember the conversation that took place but sadly I didn’t write it back then. I kept the processing simple and in colors for a change, let me know what you think about it.
قابلت هذا الرجل المسن على باب منزله، كان يقوم بالتدخين والجلوس بشكل معتاد بجانب المنزل، كنت أرغب فعلاً بتذكر المحادثة التي دارت بيني وبينه ولكن للأسف لم أقم بكتابتها في ذلك الوقت. عملت على المعالجة بشكل بسيط وملون من باب التغيير لذا أخبروني برأيكم بها.

AlTahlia St. in Riyadh is one of the famous streets to hang out for both men & woman from the middle class or higher because it has lots of cafes & restaurants plus a big sidewalk in both sides perfect for walking, I tried to capture some of the usual scenes in there and here are some of the photos.
شارع التحلية في الرياض هو واحد من أشهر الشوارع التي يمضي بها الشباب والبنات من الطبقة المتوسطة فأعلى وقتهم بسبب وجود عدد من الكافيهات والمطاعم بالإضافة إلى الرصيف الكبير على جانبي الشارع وهو مناسب لمن يحب أن يمارس المشي هناك لقضاء بعض الوقت، حاولت أن ألتقط بعض اللحظات المعتادة هناك وهذه هي بعض الصور.
Project Selfie is something came up while started shooting street photography, I found myself in love in the way some of photographers shooting them selfs in the mirror holding the camera, so I started doing that every time I saw a mirror in the streets, events or even family gathering. So this only a glimpse and fresh photos I’ve captured in single photowalk.
مشروع سيلفي هو شيء طرأ أمامي عندما بدأت بتصوير حياة الشارع، وجدت نفسي مغرماً في الصور التي إلتقطها بعض المصورين القدامى أمام المرأة وهم حاملين الكاميرا، لذا بدأت بإلتقاط هذه الصورة كلما سنحت لي الفرصة سواء في الشارع او المناسبات او غيرها. هذه مجرد لمحة ومن صور جولة واحدة.
Last month I was in a 1 day family trip to the desert to spend enjoy the cold weather, I took my camera with me to document this trip like always, we arrived there early morning and I started shooting then suddenly after an hour or so I picked up the camera and sounded funny and it showed an error screen and won’t shoot at all!
الشهر الماضي كنت في رحلة عائلية لمدة يوم واحد إلى البر للاستمتاع بالأجواء الباردة، وأخذت معي عدة التصوير لتوثيق الرحلة كما هي العادة، وصلنا في الصباح الباكر وبدأت بالتصوير فوراً وبعد ساعة تقريباً من تواجدنا هناك إلتقطت الكاميرا للتصوير وتفاجأت بصوت غريب وظهور شاشة خطأ على الشاشة ولم تقم بالتصوير بتاتاً!
Err 20: A malfunction with the mechanical mechanism has been detected.
خطأ ٢٠: تم اكتشاف عطل في الأجزاء الميكانيكة
I started googling about it and it showed the same solution as in the screen itself which didn’t work. And the only mechanism part in the camera is the shutter, so after doing what I can with no good I send it to canon maintenance in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia which they told me that it was “Shutter Failure“so they got it replaced and back to work again thankfully
بدأت بالبحث عنها في قوقل وظهرت لي نفس الحلول الموجودة على الشاشة نفسها مع حلول اخرى تجريبية بدون أي فائدة. الأجزاء الميكانيكة الوحيدة في الكاميرا هي الغالق، لذا قمت بإرسالها إلى صيانة كانون الموجودة في جدة في السعودية وقاموا بالرد علي بعد أسبوع تقريباً واخباري ان الكاميرا لديها “فشل في الغالق” وقاموا باستبداله وعادت الكاميرا للتصوير بشكل طبيعي والحمدلله

A walk in Dammam Central Market which a place I always go to photograph, it a was after a rainy day which I captured lots of reflections I posted earlier ( click here to view it ). This market always prove to me that street photography always give you moments even in the same place over & over, enjoy the photos
جولة كانت في سوق وسط الدمام وهو من الأماكن التي اعتدت التصوير بها، كان هذا اليوم بعد يوم ممطر والذي قمت بإلتقاط العديد من الانعكاسات والتي قمت بنشرها مسبقاً (اضغط هنا لرؤيتها). هذا السوق دوماً يؤكد لي بأن تصوير حياة الشارع يعطيك لحظات مختلفة لنفس المكان دائماً، استمتعوا بالصور
I’ve went to Bahrain several times for street photography, and this is one of the first visits which was in Muharraq, Bahrain. I explored some of the old areas there near the market which was inhabited mostly by foreign families

From the archive about 2 years ago, there was a heavy rain lasted for a day then the next day were cloudy so it was a great chance for me on the streets, here are some of the photos.
Since I started this project “Street Life in Saudi Arabia” back in October 2013 I never thought I would take this long or even go to many cities in the country! At first I had simple goals, but every time I published a new post my goals grow to become bigger until I set a goal to Stop the project so I can do other projects, because this project can’t be completely finished until I’ve gone to more and more cities then I already did. I set a goal to publish 50 Days of posts, it was supposed to be 50 posts but it grew to 66 posts! And I was aiming to capture about a 1000 photo but it almost reached 3000 photos!
Although the project name is street life but it was a mixture between ( Street Life – People Life – Documentary ) and tried to caption most of photos in the blog too so it can have better meaning to the viewer. For now I’m gonna stop publishing an new posts so I can focus in other projects in my mind, maybe after a year or so.
Here is a summery for what I’ve did since the beginning of the project:

Now I want to tell you all whats next for the project this year, since I only had to exposure my work through the blog and social media and a couple of local presentation, I’m planning to do an personal exhibition to show case the best of the project along side a book ( which is a dream I wanna achieve ) so stay tune in the next few months about it.
منذ أن بدأت مشروع “حياة الشارع في السعودية” في اكتوبر ٢٠١٣ لم أكن أتخيل أن أصل إلى هذا الحد وإلى هذا العدد من المدن في المملكة! في البداية كانت أهدافي بسيطة وصغيرة، ولكن كل مرة كنت أنشر تدوينة جديدة كانت تلك الأهداف تكبر حتى وضعت هدفاً للوصول إليه لأكون راضي عن هذا المشروع ولكي أستطيع البدء بمشاريع اخرى، ولأنه هذا المشروع غير منتهي ١٠٠٪ تماماً حتى أزور اعداد اكبر من المدن التي قمت بزيارتها مسبقاً. وضعت هدفاً لنشر ٥٠ يوم من التدوينات، وكان من المفترض أن تصبح فقط ٥٠ ولكنها وصلت إلى ٦٦ تدوينة! وكنت أهدف أيضاً إلى ما يقارب ١٠٠٠ صورة ولكن تلك الصور اقتربت من ٣٠٠٠ صورة!
مع أن اسم المشروع هو حياة الشارع ولكنه بالواقع مزيج بين عدة مجالات ( حياة الشارع – حياة الناس – وثائقي ) وكنت أحاول دائماً أن اذيل الصور بتعليقات ووصف لتعطي المشاهد للصورة معنى أكبر. على أي حال للوقت الراهن سأتوقف عن هذا المشروع حتى أتمكن من التركيز على مشاريع اخرى، ربما سأتوقف سنة أو أكثر.
هنا ملخص يوضح ما فعلته منذ بداية المشروع:

الان أريد أن أقول ماذا سيحدث بعد هذا المشروع في هذه السنة إن شاء الله، منذ بدأت كان النشر مقتصراً على المدونة وبعض الوسائل الاجتماعية وأيضاً عرض مختصر في مناسبات تصوير، الان أنا في صدد التخطيط لعمل معرض شخصي يحتضن أفضل الأعمال من هذا المشروع بالإضافة إلى طباعة كتاب خاص ( وهو حلم شخصي ) حتى الان الامر كلمات على ورق ولكن كونوا بالقرب لسماع الاخبار في الشهورالقادمة

Last December a yearly exhibition held in Qatif, Saudi Arabia by Qatif Group for Photography marking it the 20th exhibition for the group history in 20 years.Happy that my work was part of the exhibition which was a series of 3 photos from the street life.
في ديسمبر الماضي تم اقامة المعرض السنوي في القطيف بالسعودية التابع لجماعة القطيف للتصوير الضوئي والذي يجعله المعرض العشرين في تاريخ المجموعة على مدى ٢٠ سنة. سعيد بأن تكون أعمالي جزء من هذا المعرض والتي تضمنت سلسلة مكونة من ٣ صور من حياة الشارع
Another documentary on this subject which is very difficult for a lot to photograph, I already published some photos from another burial in 2015 check it out if you have time. This time I arrived early before moving the deceased to the graveyard, after the deceased get cleaned & washed by men who are there job to do so they prepare him to be carried away, won’t say more then the photos would! وثائقي جديد عن هذا الموضوع الذي دوماً تكون هناك صعوبة شديدة في كل من يريد تصويره، لقد قمت مسبقاً بنشر صور من دفن تم في ٢٠١٥ قوموا بزيارتها ان كان لديكم الوقت. في هذه المرة وصلت مبكراً قبل بدء التشييع نحو المقبرة، وصلت في مغتسل الموتى بعد أنهى العاملون هناك من عملية غسيل المتوفى وتكفينه، لن أطيل الحديث، البقية في الصور! الصورة ملتقطة في قرية الجبيل – مقبرة الشهارين بالأحساء – ١٥ يناير ٢٠١٧
