Hello all, today I’m publishing some film photos from my hometown village in AlHasa which I had for a while but didn’t scan them digitally until recently & seeing the photos for the first time, in that I day I wanted to try a color film with an iso of 400 and because the films were expired the noise was high & low in different frames, but some of them had really beautiful vibrant color. 

مرحبا بالجميع، اليوم سأقوم بنشر بعض الصور الفلمية من مسقط رأسي في الأحساء والتي كانت بحوزتي منذ فترة ولكن لم أقم بتحويلها رقمياً من ذلك الوقت، قمت أخيراً بتحويلها رقمياً ومشاهدة الصور للمرة الأولى، في ذلك اليوم قررت التصوير بأفلام ملونة وكانت ايزو ٤٠٠ ولأنه الأفلام كانت منتهية الصلاحية كان التحبب مرتفع ومنخفض في مختلف الصور، ولكن بعضها ظهرت بألوان جميلة جداً.

Friends – film photography

Since most of the time I shot on the streets, I thought it was also great to try shoot film with my photographers friends, some are colored others are in black n white. I really loved how some came out!

بما أن معظم تصويري بالفيلم كان في نطاق حياة الشارع، فكرت في أنني أقوم أيضاً بتصوير بعض الأصدقاء المصورين، بعضها كانت ملونة واخرى بالأبيض والأسود، بعض النتائج أحببتها جداً!

Qatif streets part 2 – film photography

Continuing the series of b/w film photos and to bring you back another part from Qatif, Saudi Arabia. This area is the first time I walk through it so it was a good experience to shoot film in an unknown area, not knowing what might I get from there. I got to say the manual focus is a challenge in an analog camera but it’s also fun to use!

نكمل سلسلة الصور الفلمية الاحادية وهذه المرة عودة مع شوارع من القطيف بالمنطقة الشرقية. هذا الحي هو مكان جديد بالنسبة لي كجولة تصوير فكانت تجربة جيدة أن أقوم بتصوير فلمي في مكان غير معروف لدي. لابد أن أقول أن تجربة التركيز اليدوي في الكاميرات القديمة هي بمثابة التحدي ولكنها لا تخلو من المتعة!

Saihat streets – film photography

Another Series of b/w film photos from a town called Saihat which is part of the Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. I’ve already documented the lives in these alleys but I still want to try the old school method with an analog camera, these photos are results from using 2 rolls of film. Hope you enjoy it!

سلسلة صور فلمية احادية اخرى من بلدة سيهات في المنطقة الشرقية. لقد قمت بتوثيق الحي سابقاً ولكن أردت التجول بالمكان مرة اخرى بواسطة كاميرا قديمة فلمية والاستمتاع بالتصوير، هذه الصورة نتائج من استخدام فلمين. أتمنى ان تعجبكم!

Qatif streets part 1 – film photography

Back with a new set of b/w film photos this time from Qatif, Saudi Arabia. I visited this area more then once so I got used to place before shooting with film, as a result I’ve captured a few good ones from there. Hope you like it!

عودة مرة اخرى مع سلسلة صور فلمية احادية وهذه المرة من القطيف. تجولت في أزقة وشوارع أم الحمام وكنت قد زرت هذا المكان لعدة مرات سابقاً لذلك تمكنت من إلتقاط عدة صور جيدة هناك. أتمنى أن تحوز على اعجابكم!

Calmness with My 400D – Film Photography

This exceptional shot happened in a hotel in Riyadh, while at noon I had nothing to do but to sit and wait for my friend to finish his work, I saw a beautiful light lampshade next to the window and the light on it was just beautiful! I placed my Canon 400D there, spent 10 sec to make sure that my focus is right! And here it is !

صورة صورتها حين كنت في أحد الفنادق في الرياض، رأيت الأباجورة عند النافذة وقمت بوضح كاميرتي بجانبها وإلتقاط صورة واحدة وسعيد لهذه النتيجة !

Colors of Saudi Arabia – Film Photography

Hello again, so my very first rolls were in Riyadh at the big Event for the Third Saudi Color Forum and it was with my 2nd film Camera which was the Canon AE-1 program w/50mm F/1.8, I learned after shooting this roll that there are special color films for indoor photography so that the white balance would come out great and a high ISO film for the low light situation. I didn’t do much for the colors but to correct them in Adobe Lightroom, thats all!

مرحبا مرة اخرى، كان احدى افلامي الأولى التي استخدمتها في الرياض في ملتقى ألوان السعودية الثالث ولقد كانت بكاميرتي الفلمية الثانية والحالية وهي من نوع كانون مع عدسة ٥٠ مم، تعلمت بعد رؤية نتائج هذا الفيلم بأن هناك أنواع معينة من الأفلام الخاصة بالتصوير داخل المباني وهي تراعي الاضاءة الداخلية لكي يظهر التوازن اللوني بشكل صحيح ومناسب وأيضاً يستخدم حساسية ضوء عالية لمراعاة الضوء المنخفض. كل ما فعلته بالصور هو تصحيح اللألوان ببرنامج أدوب لايتروم والنتيجة كما ترون!

Kuwait – Film Photography

Hello everyone, it’s been a while since I’ve uploaded anything! this is the first blog post containing my film/analog photography which I started it a few month ago. I wanted to feel the experiment by myself and it’s not an easy thing to do! It will follow more later on, so stay tune.

Sadly I’ve made a big mistake by leaving the negatives in a bad place which they were exposed to lots dust! most of them aren’t good for printing again, but I managed to to clear most of it using Adobe Lightroom, this is one of the lessons I learned about film photography!

مرحبا بكم جميعاً، لقد مر فترة من الزمن لم أقم بنشر أي شيء من أعمالي! على كل حال هذه التدوينة الأولى التي أقوم بنشر بعض الصور من الصور الفلمية والتي بدأت به قبل بضعة أشهر رغبة في التجربة والتذوق لهذا النوع من التصوير، وأستطيع القول بأن الأمر ليس سهلاً ويحتاج إلى صبر وانضباط! سيكون هناك المزيد لاحقاً ترقبوها.

بشكل مؤسف قمت بعمل خطأ فادح كلفني الكثير حيث تركت الصور الأصل في مكان غير جيد مكشوفة للغبار والأوساخ وأصبح معظمها غير قابل للطباعة، ولكني استطعت انقاذ بعضها عن طريق برنامج أدوب لايتروم، هذه واحدة من الدروس التي تعلمتها من التصوير الفلمي!
