AlBatha Area in Riyadh 5 – Street photography

It’s been 6 months since I’ve gone out for a photowalk, that’s the longest break I had for a while, and I wish to go back to my regular things with photography and editing. Anyway the chance was in front of me for a quick walk in Riyadh and even though it was Friday morning, I still went out for AlBatha area which I already visited many times, maybe next time in Riyadh I’ll target another area.

لقد مرت قرابة ٦ شهور على اخر جولة تصوير، فترة التوقف هذي الأطول لي منذ فترة، أتمنى العودة إلى أموري الفوتوغرافية بشكل طبيعي كالسابق مثل التصوير والمعالجة. على أي حال ظهرت لي الفرصة للخروج في جولة سريعة في العاصمة الرياض على الرغم من أنه صباح يوم الجمعة، توجهت إلى منطقة البطحاء بالرغم من زياراتي المتعددة لها سابقاً، ربما سأقوم بالذهاب إلى منطقة اخرى في المرات المقبلة.

AlZal Market Riyadh – Street photography

Hello, I had the chance to visit Riyadh to attend a calisthenics event for 2 days, luckily for me the morning was free time so I took that time for going on a photowalk and in the 2nd day I went to AlZal Market downtown Riyadh, it was Saturday so the day for market was just getting started and I saw different scenes there and some unique ones. I visited the market more then once and published posts about it like Day 80 Riyadh – AlZal Market . Here are some of the results.

مرحبا، كانت لدي الفرصة لزيارة الرياض لحضور حدث خاص برياضة الكاليسثنكس لمدة يومين، من حسن الحظ كان وقت الصباح وقت حُر لذلك استغليت الفرصة للخروج في جولة تصوير في اليوم الثاني إلى سوق الزل والثميري وسط الرياض، كان يصادف يوم السبت ولهذا كان السوق ينتعش شيئاً فشيئاً من الباعة والزبائن وشاهدت العديد من المشاهد ومنها مشاهد مميزة. قمت بزيارة السوق أكثر من مرة في الماضي ونشرت عدة تدوينات مثل يوم ٨٠ الرياض – سوق الزل. هذه بعض النتائج

AlBatha Area in Riyadh 4 – Street photography

Hello, I had the chance to visit Riyadh to attend a calisthenics event for 2 days, luckily for me the morning was free time so I took that time for going on a photowalk and in the 1st day I went to usual place AlBatha area, it was super early morning and it was Friday so the streets until getting to the market were almost empty, but Friday morning is special case for AlBtha, a lot of foreign costumers are gathered there at this day specially Indians, but the scenes inside the market with sun light & shadows are something I can’t get bored with. AlBatha area is the most visited area for me in Riyadh for photography in the past years but I find myself keep going there whenever I have the chance.

مرحبا، كانت لدي الفرصة لزيارة الرياض لحضور حدث خاص برياضة الكاليسثنكس لمدة يومين، من حسن الحظ كان وقت الصباح وقت حُر لذلك استغليت الفرصة للخروج في جولة تصوير في اليوم الأول إلى المكان المعتاد وهي منطقة البطحاء، كان الوقت صباحاُ ويوم جمعة لذا شوارع الرياض كانت شبه فارغة، ولكن يوم الجمعة هو يوم استثنائي للبطحاء، الكثير من الأجانب يأتون في هذا اليوم خصوصاً من الجنسية الهندية، لكن المشاهد داخل السوق مع ضوء الشمس والظلال هو شيء لا تستطيع الملل منه. منطقة البطحاء هي أكثر مكان قمت بزيارته للتصوير في الرياض على مدى السنين الماضية وأجد نفسي أذهب هناك في كل مرة تأتيني الفرصة.

Road trip to Riyadh for 2 days

Well it’s been a while since I’ve taken any road trip at all for myself, and for change I didn’t go specially for photography, I have a calisthenics competition that I wanted to attend and luckily they didn’t have any activity in the morning so naturally I had to take the chance and go out for photography! It was the weekends the first day Friday I headed towards AlBatha area downtown which I already visited & posted about several times, it’s an area you can’t get enough with, arrived there not too early so there will be more people & more life there and because it was Friday most of the streets while getting there by the car are almost empty, I may get asked why do you keep going to the same places over & over again, it’s simple I’m just chasing the unusual things in the ordinary places.

The next day I also had free time in the morning so I went to AlZal market, also a market I visited & posted about several times, the atmosphere is completely different from yesterday since it’s one of Riyadh heritage & tourism spot (I also saw a tourist group there by accident) the market is not that big but it’s full of scenes worth capturing and can get you circle around it over & over like I did.

مضى بعض الوقت منذ اخر رحلة برية لأي شيء كان، ومن باب التغيير هذه المرة لم أذهب إلى الرياض من أجل التصوير، كانت هناك بطولة لرياضة الكاليسثنكس ورغبت في الحضور ومن حسن الحظ لم يكن هناك أي فعاليات في وقت الصباح لذلك كنت متفرق وبكل تأكيد خصصت هذا الوقت للذهاب للتصوير! كان الوقت هو العطلة الأسبوعية واليوم الأول هو الجمعة لذا توجهت إلى منطقة البطحاء وسط المدينة والتي زرتها مرات عديدة من السابق ونشرت عنها أكثر من مرة في المدونة، لا تستطيع الاكتفاء من التصوير هناك، وصلت هناك ليس في وقت مبكر جداً حتى أصل وأشاهد تواجد الناس والحياة مباشرة ولأنه يوم الجمعة معظم الشوارع في المدينة كانت شبه فارغة لذا كان الوصول هناك مريحاً، قد يتسائل البعض لما أعيد تكرار الزيارة لنفس المكان أكثر من مرة، الأمر بسيط أنا فقط ألاحق الأشياء الغير العادية في الأماكن العادية.

اليوم التالي توجهت في الصباح إلى سوق الزل والثميري، هذا السوق أيضاً قمت بزيارته عدة مرات، الأجواء هنا مختلفة تماماً عن يوم أمس (أقصد بها أجواء الحياة والناس) بما أن هذا السوق أحد الأسواق التراثية وأحد الأماكن السياحية في الرياض (ومن الصدف واجهت مجموعة سياحية هناك) السوق ليس كبيراً ولكنه مليء بالمشاهد التي تستحق التصوير والذي سيجعلك تدور حول المكان عدة مرات مثلما فعلت.

AlBatha Area in Riyadh 3 – Street photography

Hello all, another visit to AlBatha area in the capital city Riyadh, I already mentioned in a previous blog post that this area has endless scenes and it can be visited many times through out the year, that’s why if I’m in Riyadh I like to go for a walk there to even though I’ve already visited the area many times, so this time again I visited the area in the morning time close to the afternoon time, the sun light was very harsh but it served well with the narrow alleys through the tall buildings so here are the results.

مرحبا بالجميع، زيارة اخرى لمنطقة البطحاء في العاصمة الرياض، ذكرت في تدوينة سابقة أن هذه المنطقة مليئة بالمشاهد الكثيرة ويمكن زيارتها عدة مرات على مدار السنة، لذلك في كل مرة أزور الرياض أحاول بقدر الإمكان القيام بجولة هناك على الرغم من زياراتي العديدة لها، هذه المرة كذلك قمت بزيارتها في الصباح المتأخر وكانت الشمس اضاءتها عالية ولكنها خدمت بشكل ممتاز الممرات الضيقة في المباني الطويلة بالمنطقة وهذه النتائج.

Day 108 Riyadh – Residential Area

مرحبا بكم جميعاً في مدونتي، إذا كنت لا تعرف عن هذا المشروع وهدفه إقرأ هنا في هذه الصفحة، شكراً لك.

Hello all, it’s been 7 months since my last post for my Saudi Street Project but here it is visiting a whole new area from the Capital Riyadh called AlShemaysi area which is one of many old areas in south of the city and have lots and lots of traditional old houses that been invaded by foreign residents in the last few decades, although with that some old men who grow up in this area are used to come back and meet up with others is different spots as they are still attached even after leaving the area, also there is a public market which was very difficult to photograph there because of the idea of the market and the usual people who visit there from different nationality like east-Asian people and African people, I walked around for over an hour covering a large area even though there are still lots that I didn’t encounter.

مرحبا بالجميع، مضت ٧ شهور على اخر تدوينة لمشروع حياة الشارع السعودي ولكننا هنا الان مع تدوينة جديدة من حي جديد بالعاصمة الرياض يسمى حي الشميسي وهو من الأحياء القديمة في جنوب المدينة ويحتوي على الكثير والكثير من بيوت الطين القديمة والتي يسكنها غالباً سكان أجانب منذ عدة عقود، مع ذلك إلتقيت بمجموعة من كبار السن الذي ترعرعوا في الحي في صغرهم ويلتقون في عدة أماكن بشكل معتاد بسبب تعلقهم بالحي، أيضاً هناك حراج يسمى حراج الرخوم لمختلف الجنسيات الأسيوية والذي كان يصعب التصوير فيه جداً بسبب ماهية الحراج والسوق نفسه، تمشيت في الحي لأكثر من ساعة وغطيت مساحة كبيرة على الرغم من أنه هناك الكثير من الأماكن التي لم أزرها هناك ولكن النتيجة كانت مثمرة.

AlBatha Area in Riyadh 2 – Street photography

Hello, just another street photography post this time back to the capital Riyadh city, I went for another visit to AlBatha area south of city because you can never get enough photos from there, it wasn’t a long photowalk but I got a lot of good shots, here are some of them.

مرحبا، مجرد تدوينة اخرى لصور حياة الشارع وهذه المرة عودة للعاصمة الرياض، قمت بزيارة اخرى لمنطقة البطحاء جنوب المدينة والسبب يعود أنك لا تستطيع الاكتفاء من النتائج التي يمكن أن تجدها هناك من المشاهد والقصص، لم تكن جولة طويلة ولكنني حصلت على الكثير من الصور الجيدة وهذه بعضها.

Hello all, this is the 2nd post for my Saudi Street project from Riyadh that I talked about, after finishing photographing the old area from the 1st post it was getting dark so I got back the next day & continued to photograph the area around it which was marked by 2 different names (Skirinah area & AlDubiyah area), even though it was both smaller then the last area in terms of alleys but I managed to document most of it with some of the people who lives there.

مرحبا بالجميع، هذه التدوينة الثانية من مشروع حياة الشارع والتي تحدثت عنها سابقاً، بعد أن انتهيت من تصوير حي المعكال والتي نشرته في التدوينة الأولى بدأ ضوء النهار يختفي لذلك قررت العودة في اليوم التالي وأكملت التصوير في الأحياء المجاورة وكانوا اثنين مختلفين (حي سكيرينة وحي الدوبية) وكانت مساحتهم صغيرة مقارنة بحي المعكال من ناحية التخطيط العشوائي ولكنني بشكل عام تمكنت من توثيق الكثير من المباني والناس هناك.

Hello all, we are back to the Capital city Riyadh with my Saudi Street Project with 2 posts, publishing the first one from an old area in the center of the city near AlDeirah old area & AlZal Market that still has some old traditional houses & alleys all around, the density of the residence are not that much, but there still life in it, that’s why I didn’t get to photograph much.

مرحبا بكم جميعاً عدنا مرة اخرى إلى العاصمة الرياض مع مشروع حياة الشارع السعودي في مدونتين، أول تدوينة هي من حي قديم يسمى حي معكال وسط المدينة وهو بالقرب حي الديرة القديم وأسواق الزل والذي لا يزال محتفظاً ببعض البيوت التراثية القديمة المصنوعة من الطين والممرات الضيقة، كثافة السكان هناك ليس كبيرة ولكن لا تزال تدب بالحياة وربما كان ذلك السبب في أنني لم أستطع التصوير كثيراً.

Quick photography trip to Riyadh

I visited the capital city of Riyadh for 2 whole days for photography, I was aiming at reaching areas I haven’t photograph before & luckily I found where I need to go which are south of AlZal Market, when I reached one of the area I met someone who was born and still live here, he told me that these areas are the oldest in all over the city and still has lots of old traditional houses, anyway most of what I captured are not filled with people but I still got a good results from all of this & I’m gonna publish full posts about them later, I visited these areas in the evening in the these 2 days and as for the morning I just walked in AlBatha area & it surroundings, Riyadh is one of the cities that deserve to be explored more in this field.

قمت بزيارة العاصمة الرياض لمدة يومين كاملين لغرض التصوير بشكل رئيسي، كنت أهدف من زيارتي تصوير أحياء لم أقم بتصويرها من قبل ولحسن الحظ وجدت ضالتي في الأحياء جنوب الديرة وسوق الزل، إلتقيت بأحد سكانها الذي أخبرني أنه عاش وولد في نفس هذا الحي ويسمى حي المعكال وقال أيضاً أن هذا الحي يتوسط عدة احياة قديمة منها حي الدحو (الذي تم هدمه في السنوات الماضية) وحي الدوبية وجميعها لا زالت تحتوي على بيوت الطين القديمة ولكن حي الدوبية هو أكثرها كثافة، قمت بزيارة هذه الأحياء في المساء في هذين اليومين والجولات كانت بشكل عام قليلة جداً من حيث تصوير الناس ولكنها كانت مثمرة وسأقوم بنشر تدوينات كاملة لاحقاً، بالطبع استغليت الصباح في زيارة البطحاء وما حولها، الرياض احدى المدن التي لا زالت تستحق استكشافها بشكل أكبر من هذه الناحية.
